XBox 360 Mock UpCheck out the latest mock up of the Xbox 2/360°. Could this be what Microsoft’s next generation console will look like? Of course not. We already know that Microsoft wants the next Xbox to fit right in with all the rest of your home theater components. Nevertheless, this is an interesting design.

Hironobu SakaguchiMicrosoft has hired Final Fantasy creator, Hironobu Sakaguchi, to produce two exclusive games for its next generation console, Xbox 2/360°. The Final Fantasy series has been highly successful in the Sony Playstation world, and an Xbox exclusive might give Microsoft the edge it needs to topple the number one company in gaming. It is also no secret that Microsoft has had a tough time penetrating the Japanese video game market. Having Sakaguchi on board can definitely help in that respect. The two games are said to be released shortly after the launch of the console on a worldwide basis.  We eagerly anticipate what creations Sakaguchi will have in store for us.

Hasbro's Tooth TunesKids could care less about cavities and rising health care costs, but maybe a little Jay Z can help get them to take care of those choppers.  With this device, a two-minute recording is stored on a microchip.  You simply push a button on the toothbrush, and a minicomputer starts playing the song, transporting it through the transducer to the teeth, and from there to the jawbone then to the inner ear.  Now if only I could find a way to play some Usher when flossing, which is usually the bigger hassle.

Voodoo Knife Rack  Everytime I handle some sharp instrument, I think I’m going to hurt myself somehow.  Maybe I’ve been watching too much Final Destination.  To help complete my utter dread, Vice Versa now offers a creepy, yet fascinating rack for your knives.  It sure beats that boring wooden block most people use.  Measuring 40 x 25 cm, it looks like it only comes in red.  How appropriate.

iRiver HP120 Mario Bros
Rockbox, long known for their Archos replacement firmware, has has their eyes on iRiver products lately. It looks like Rockbox has been able to port the Game Boy emulator “GNUBoy” to the iRiver HP120 and 140. The current version is monochrome and they admit a little slow, but fully functional. Since they only work in monochrome I doubt we will ever see a full color version, but I for one would definitely download this if I owned an iRiver HP120.

Sony PSPIf you are planning to purchase Sony’s PSP on March 24th, but have yet to reserve one – you have some hunting to do. According to many people, EB Game stores and Gamestop stores have stopped taking advance orders for Sony’s upcoming handheld console. While there are other retailers who still continue to take preorders, the initial PSP shipment is said to be in the 1 million range - and the major outlets will be getting more units than the smaller stores.  With the launch date quickly approaching, the hype is rising as fast as these are selling.  Sony has yet to release when their second batch will ship out or how many PSPs will be included.

Xbox 2/360MechAssault 2 owners are able to contribute to the next generation gaming console from Microsoft through a survey that allows you to enter a sweepstakes to win some great prizes. One question in particular on the survey is very interesting and confusing at the same time.

“It is important that the next videogame system I purchase connects to my TV wirelessly.”

“Strongly Agree         Strongly Disagree”

Does Microsoft really mean that the Xbox 360° will connect without wires to your television? As cool as that would be, how will they accomplish this? It does make sense considering that there are rumors about the Xbox 360° coming with wireless controllers right off the get go. However, having the console sit at the center of my living room and have only the power cable coming from it would definitely make for a great conversation starter. Unfortunately, I think we are reading just a little too much into this.

DescriptionMan, if this is what they mean when they say that 2005 is the year of convergence, then I am all for it. Sony has built a command into EverQuest II that allows the gamer to order pizza in the midst of the game. While playing, one just simply needs to type “/pizza”, and an order form will pop up allowing you to put in your address and order. You then continue playing, and Pizza Hut shows up at your door with all that cheesy goodness. If you thought the people that never tore themselves away from the first EverQuest were bad, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
