On Unboxing: Unboxing Live 147: Apple iPhone 6 Space Gray

DescriptionClive Solari and David Francis of D3 Designs have developed the Vase Deferens. As you can see, it holds a single flower upright in a chic sort of manner. What u don’t see is the 35ml of water housed inside of the Vase Deferens. For all intents and purposes, this is a flower vase which allows the flower to enjoy a more natural posture, using its own strength to stand.

(Thanks Cin!)

PSP LAN Party

The PSP is one heck of a little game system that promises almost Star Trek-like wireless multi-player gaming. You can have a Wireless LAN gaming session with friends without having to carry a desktop PC, string Ethernet all over some dank basement, or worry about some loser running an aim-bot. But alas one of the problems of many PSP gamers is that not that many of one’s friends have invested their two hundred and fifty bucks for a PSP of their very own. How cool would it be to throw your own public PSP wireless LAN party?

G3 Beer Dispenser

And Apple fans continue to find ways to prove that Macs are cooler than Windows-based PC’s. In all actuality, you have to give it to whoever came up with this. Modding an old Mac G3 into a beer dispensing, futuristic looking tower? That is certainly thinking different.

Revenge of the Sith

In this week’s edition of “The Final Cut”, Devin takes a look at some of the upcoming films hitting theaters in the next few weeks. Last week she gave us a look at the background of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The summer movie season it at the helm, y’all:

The month of May is here, and with it comes the beginning of the summer movie season.  We’ve got many great films to look forward to this summer, and May is no exception, giving us something to look forward to each Friday.  From Mindhunters, a movie that finished filming in May 2002 and has had many release dates in the past years(I actually first saw the trailer to this when I saw Bad Santa at the theater), to the highly anticipated Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith on May 19th, May certainly has more then enough to draw anyone to the theater.  Here is a run down of what first two Fridays of what May has to offer:

JVC XA-A50JVC has jumped head first into the “low storage space MP3 ‘phones” arena. The XA-A50 headphones provide a whopping 128 MB of storage, supporting both the MP3 and DRM-protected WMA formats. At least it’s power conscious, providing 20 hours of play time via one AAA battery. Looks like this thing will cost about $150 USD - or you can just take that and buy an iPod shuffle which holds ten-times the content.

Sandisk 256 MB Duo Pro PSP ReviewSo Jake from 8bitJoystick has decided to join us here at Gear Live and PlayFeed, and we are very happy to have him. You can look forward to his weekly column, set to publish this week. For now, take a look at a sample of his work.

Yesterday I decided that it was not worth the wait and money to get a 1-Gig MemoryStick Duo card for my PSP and I picked up a much more reasonable 256 Meg MemoryStick Duo made by SanDisk. They have a new line of cards that are all bright colors that is deliberately trying to go after the PSP gamer market. I am glad that there is some competition for manufacturing MemorySticks for the PSP. I do remember when there was a drought of PS2 Memory Cards and it did suck ever so hard.

iPod shuffle 58%

CFO Peter Oppenheimer has told Merrill Lynch analyst Steven Milunovich that the iPod shuffle market has increased 43% since February dominating 58% of the market.

Mr. Oppenheimer reportedly said Apple was “supply-constrained in March and will be interested to see the April (sales) data.” Mr. Milunovich said he was told by the exec that “Apple isn’t feeling competitive heat yet” in the digital media device market from the likes of Creative, Sony, iRiver and others.

It was also said that Apple may try to advertise more on television.  Surely their competitors need to do more of that too.
