Sony‘s working on a wireless method of transferring power that we have to see to believe. After all, we’ve seen wireless connectivity for DVD and Blu-ray players, but a wireless power cable?
Sony’s Wireless Power Transfer can broadcast power at 60 watts of electrical energy to a device that is up to 20-inches away. There’s an official press release that tells all about it. We’d like to think that we’re looking at the future of TV right here.

Car Cam Voyager records video as you drive

You may have been involved in a car accident at some point, and it may have been beneficial for you to have a recording of the incident. Fortunately, the Car Cam Voyager can make your next accident an open and shut case for your insurance claim.
The Car Cam Voyager is video camera that attaches easily to the visor to film as you drive. It is powered by your vehicle’s lighter, and includes a 720 x 480 resolution screen. With a 32 GB SD card, you can record up to 48 hours of footage, stored in 15-minute increments.. If you run out of memory, it will simply start recording over the oldest recording. You can even plug it into your television with RCA output cables.

Sony shows off flexible OLED display at CEATAC

The video above was taken at CEATAC, and shows a flexible Sony OLED screen that is being bent back and forth, while displaying video content.
Every major display manufacturer is working on some sort of flexible display, and we’re excited to see the technology come to fruition. The display you see here ist 0.2mm thin, which is totally impressive.

Chumby One has faster processor than predecessor

When the Chumby hit the market two years ago, it was a cute Wi-Fi widget gadget. It would appear that the next iteration, the Chumby One, loses the squishiness, going with a hard frame instead.
What can you expect out of the Chumby One? For starters, a faster processor that’s been bumped up from 350MHz to 454MHz. It still relies on the widget architecture, so you’ll have access to things like Facebook, YouTube, Pandora, and all other web-connected weather, news, and services. If you want one, you’ll have to wait a few more weeks until its official release. It’ll cost you $100.

Another Microsoft Courier video shows how it’ll work

Remember that Microsoft Courier video we showed you last week? Well our friends at Gizmodo were able to uncover a bit more about the mysterious and astonishing Microsoft tablet device. In the leaked video above, you get a look at the way that the fine folks in Redmond think you’ll integrate the Courier tablet device into your everyday life. We must say, it’s insanely slick, and we hope that it works exactly as shown. Of course, this is just a demo, and it doesn’t even feature a real hand or stylus.
That said, we are big fans of the “infinite journal” approach, and we can certainly see a lot of professional uses for such a device with a natural input system. What we are still curious about, though, is if this thing is also meant to be a multimedia device. You know, movies, games, music? The things that we are expecting the Apple tablet to excel at? Or is this a case of Microsoft recognizing that Apple has a stronghold in that area, and as such, they’ll focus on a different, underserved demographic? Time will tell.

Sony DPP-F700 digital picture frame and printer

There are rarely any real differentiating features when it comes to digital picture frames, other than cost and screen quality. Sony looks to change that perception with the DPP-F700, which can print 4x6 photos using “one touch printing” alongside TruFast technology for its 300x300 dpi end result.
As for the other usual features, this 7-inch frame has 1GB of memory, time/date display, and support for Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, SD card, SDH Card, CF Card, and xD-Picture Card. The Sony DPP-F700 should be out sometime in November for about $290.

Last January, we got a chance to see Panasonic‘s 3D demonstration on their 103-inch screen, and it appears that the company was able to shrink it down for the typical consumer, and they’ll be showing it off at CEATEC 2009 next week. Their 50-inch screen is meant for the typical consumer (starting with early adopters.) To take advantage of 3D on this set, you need to use it alongside a 3D-compatible Blu-ray player along with shutter glasses. There is no word on a price point, but these 3D TVs should be all the rage next year.

Microsoft’s Courier tablet: We need one immediately

Our friends at Gizmodo recently got a fantastic scoop, revealing a project that Microsoft has been working on, known as the Courier tablet. This device has been a secret for the Microsoft for a long time now. According to Giz, this is more than just a concept device, but rather, Courier is in the “late prototype” stage.
Courier has two 7-inch screens that are touch sensitive, and are designed to be interacted by touch or with the very pen-like stylus. On its hinge is a home button like the iPhone, and this hinge serves as a virtual “pocket” to hold items that are moved from one screen to the other.
No word on price or availability just yet, but you have to admit that it looks quite sexy. Of course, this may not even come to fruition, but it’s a bold challenge to Apple’s dominance in the sexy multitouch devices department.

Intel shows off Tangent Bay laptop with 3 OLED panels at IDF

Intel just recently unveiled a concept laptop at IDF that features four screens. The first screen would be a normal sized monitor, and the other three are OLEDs that are just above the keyboard. The purpose of these three screens is so that the user can better organize their work. For example, the smallest screen located to the far left would have some applications, and the center screen would show applications within those applications. The third screen to the far right will have a preview of what is in those apps, and the user can bring that image to the big screen with a flick of the finger. Go ahead and watch the video if you are confused, all in all, it’s pretty cool.
