We’ve gotta hand it to PeeWee PC, as their Pivot Tablet Laptop looks exactly like something that would be a home run in the hands of a technology-curious child. Don’t go comparing this to the XO, though, because the Pivot Tablet starts at $599.99. What do you get for the cash? Let’s run down some of the specs. First of all, the Pivot Tablet Laptop if drop-resistant and spill-resistant, which immediately should give a bit of piece of mind to parents (like me) who know the horrors of kids + tech + juice. It also has a handle, making it easy for the children to tote the 3 pound device around. Getting into the nitty gritty, the Pivot Tablet Laptop sports a 10-inch touch-sensitive rotating display with stylus, 6-cell Li-ion battery, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB RAM, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and a 60GB hard drive. Not too shabby. You’ve also got two USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi, and the whole thing ships with Windows XP Home, which is customized with a theme of your choice (things liek Disney, Sci-Fi, etc.). Being a device for kids, there is also a security suite that let’s you keep on eye on what the little one is up to while using the device as well.

You can pick one up starting today.

Astronaut PenThis is no ordinary Bic. You can show everyone of your desire to either go into space or that you are horrifically bored at work with the Astronaut Rocket Pen. Push the ignition control button and it takes off up to a height of a whopping 36 inches. Space Shuttle and Titan Rocket pens are also available, each with a price of $8.94. We hope that helmet keeps the landing from becoming an inky mess.

HMS Battleship RadioReplace that outdated rubber ducky with this waterproof HMS Battleship. The floating ship has an FM tuner with auto-scanning, volume control and reset button. At a size of 19 x 5 x 4cm, the HMS needs 2 AAA batteries (not included.) Equipped with missiles and guns, we figure you could probably grab a couple of them at £13.00 (~$19.00) each and have soapy battles with your best bud.

Touching the cube will change its colors, and you can get a hint or full solve with its built-in solver. Shown at the recent NY Toy Fair, the cube is set to come out later this year with a $150.00 price. Sign up for details on their new site or grab your old one and save the bucks.

Phantom ChessDespite the weird word association photo, Excalibur’s Phantom Chess seems intriguing. Not only will it set up the pieces, its electro-magnetic system moves your men and those of your computerized opponent. Taken pieces are taken to the edge of the board. Add some battle sounds or keep track of the time on its LCD display. The game has 136 levels, 120 for play and 16 for analysis. It will even let you take back your last move, several of them, or the entire game. You can also switch sides or replay a game to check your mistakes. Our favorite part? The “Are you sure?” mode. Phantom Chess can run on AC or 6 C batteries and carries a MSRP of £155 (~$226.00.)

Nuclear DoorbellHere’s a fun way to freak out those loud neighbors. The Nuclear Doorbell has a 20 meter operating range at 433MHz. When pressed it plays a mega-loud siren, flashes yellow lights and yells at the unsuspecting victim. At a size of 200 x 190mm, it requires no wiring and runs on batteries (included.) You can get the doorbell for £15.99 (~$23.00.) This might also be a deterrent for car thieves as who can resist pushing a button that looks harmless?

DescriptionWe already know that the U.S. is now obsessed with the first family and are scrambling for memorabilia, from dolls named Malia and Sasha to a collector’s edition of Spiderman, but when we saw Japan’s tribute we really cracked up. In an odd world where good still wins over evil, the president will certainly triumph over Darth Vader. The action figure set comes with 3 sets of hands, two ties, microphone, megaphone, watch, flag and stool (but no now-approved BlackBerry) at a price of ¥8090 (~$91.00.) Light sabers sold separately.
