The next Daft Punk album, Random Access Memories, is set to be released in a couple of weeks, and for those who can't wait, there are custom Daft Punk LEGO minifigs. Jake Meier, LEGO minifig extraordinnaire, put the duo together with custom turntable, helmets, and a bunch of assumedly electronic music vinyl in a box. Well done.

2012 Holiday Gift Guide: Nintendo Wii U

Are you ready to usher in the arrival of the next-generation consoles? Nintendo is, as it's released the Wii U, today's pick in our 2012 Holiday Gift Guide. There are two configurations of Wii U available: a $299 white base model that packs in 8GB of storage, and a $349 Deluxe black bundle that has 32GB of storage and the NintendoLand game.
Both versions include the Wii U console, a WiiPad, sensor bar, AC adapters, and HDMI cable. If you opt for the Deluxe set, you'll also get a play stand, charging stand, and console stand.
The current Wii remotes and nunchuks are fully compatible with the Wii U console.

We've got another inexpensive, yet awesome, entry for our 2012 Holiday Gift Guide, this one focusing on the undead. Do you know what happens when you take old broken plush toys and bury them in the woods by the light of the full moon while whistling the theme song from "Halloween"? Unfortunately nothing...which is why the skillful design monkeys over at ThinkGeek were forced to come-up with their own scary (but cute) zombie plush.
The Dismember-Me Plush Zombie begs to be torn limb from limb. After all he is a decaying re-animated corpse turned into irresistible cuddly plush. Rip off an arm... he doesn't mind. Tear him in half.. he'll barely notice. Pull off his legs... ok now he's getting a bit annoyed. Steal his brain... now you've really done it. Keep your teddy bears under close guard tonight because undead plush have come back from hell to walk the earth.

Next up in our 2012 Holiday Gift Guide is Monopoly zAPPed, a full-fledged verion of Monopoly that can also be considered an iPad accessory. There are gonna be a lot of iPads and iPad minis under the tree this year, and if you already know someone who owns one (or who will own one this holiday season,) consider this game as a fun gift for them. The game is played with an iPhone or iPad with two to four players, and is different from tradtional Monopoly in that the device (iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone) is the bank and there are on-screen mini games. Also, there is no money, as you just swipe your credit card on the display for transactions. We think that LEGO sets are a super-fun holiday gift for kids that also gets the creative juices flowing, and the LEGO City Mining Truck is our pick for our 2012 Holiday Gift Guide. It's got a few cool, custom features like large all-terrain wheels, dumping function, dynamite with timer and big rock containing 2 gold crystals and 3 gold nuggets. That said, only one toy could truly capture our imagination and creativity—LEGO. So simple, yet so brilliant. Caine’s Arcade shows the incredible creativity of a 9-year-old boy

Caine Monroy, a 9-year-old boy with a wild imagination, decided to build an arcade in his dad's auto repair shop. Of course, being that he is, you know, just a child, Caine had to work with materials that were age-appropriate. That meant a lot of cardboard, tape, string, and a large dose of imagination. The end result is an incredible sight--Caine's Arcade. The story doesn't end there, though. You see, despite the awesome arcade that Caine built for the public, he never got any customers. Then, as luck would have it, a well-connected independent filmmaker came to play, and through that, organized a to give Caine the best day of his life. You've gotta see the video above.

Intel working on StudyBook, a tablet for students

Intel has been working on designing a tablet, dubbed the Studybook, that focuses and built primarily on educational needs. The tablet would run on Windows 7 or Android 3.0, powered by the Atom Z650 processor, feature a front and rear-facing camera, 1 GB of RAM, and all the versatile ports such as USB 2.0, HDMI, and a microSD slot. It would fall into Intel’s line of educational computers, such as the Classmate Convertible, which is used by 7 million students over the whole world.
Now, you might be cringing thinking about how quickly students will destroy the tablets, but Intel has designed the Studybook to withstand abuse. It’s made of durable plastic and can withstand a drop from about 2 feet or so.
The StudyBook is to come with preinstalled educational software, such as the Kno e-reader and LabCam suite for science. It’s reported that the tablet should sell around $200, but no word of when its official release and availability date will be.
