Yup, Black Friday 2009 is in three days, and the Black Friday sale leaks are happening fast and furiously at this point. The latest ad that we have for you gives you a look at everything that Amazon will have available at a nice discount for their Black Friday sale. Since Amazon sells pretty much everything under the sun, we’ve pared the offerings down to cover just the things we’re interested in, no clothing deals here, but we’ve got all the tech and gadgets that’ll be on sale at Amazon come Black Friday for you, after the break. We knew that Walmart would be bringing the heat for Black Friday 2009, but we didn’t know they’d be going all-out with the Blu-ray goodness. Seriously, if you are looking for the most inexpensive Blu-ray player on Black Friday 2009, it looks like the Magnavox NB500 will be your best bet, because it’ll cost just $78 at Walmart. Best Buy’s Black Friday 2009 ad has leaked, and it is chock-full of goodness, in our humble opinion. If you are a gamer, you’ll definitely want to take a look at some of the deals they’ve got on a bunch of titles, as well as console bundles. HDTVs are also drastically reduced in price, and they’ve even got a Blu-ray player for $99. Good times all around.

Video: Google Maps Navigation feature walkthrough

One of the nicest features in Android 2.0 is Google Maps Navigation. In a nutshell, it’s Google Maps with turn-by-turn GPS navigation, and voice guidance. Google has put together a video that introduces Google Maps Navigation, which we’ve embedded above, but there are some of the features that stand out to us:
- Live traffic: Since Google Maps can show you traffic info, it’s obviously built-in to Google Maps Navigation, at no extra cost.
- Routes always current: When you search for directions, Google Maps Navigation searches the cloud, and gives you the best current route based on the most recent data
- Layers: You can overlay different types on data over your maps, like restaurants, gas stations, and more.
- Live street view: This is just awesome. You can use the Google Street View feature to get a fantastic visual of your surroundings while driving
- FREE!: Google Maps Navigation is free. That includes the GPS, the live traffic data, and the always updated maps. That is a big deal.
The first handset to ship with Android 2.0, and thusly Google Maps Navigation, will be the Motorola Droid.

The Num8 from Lok8u (pronounced “locate-you”) is designed for parents who want to know where their children roam. This GPS locator device is concealed inside an ordinary child’s wristwatch, and a parent can follow their kid virtually via mobile phone or computer. Users also have the option of setting up a “virtual fence.” If a child with the Num8 steps outside this “safe zone,” the parents will be notified electronically. The Num8 will also notify the parents if the device is removed for any reason.
Of course, this security has a price. The device is about 149 Euros ($245,) and the location services range from about 4.99-19.99 Euros ($8-33,) depending on what type of service you want.

The TomTom ONE 130S is being sold for $69.99, which is $50 off the normal price. This one is great for getting from point A to point B, without any of the other frills that may get in the way, and it also has text-to-speech built in. The Magellan Roadmate 1700, the latest GPS from the company, aims to impress with its 7-inch screen. It features 6 million points of interest, text-to-speech, and multiple point routing capability - all standard fare for a GPS nowadays. It’ll include maps of North America, AAA Tour Book, and lane assistance as well. All of that is just child’s play when compared to the super huge screen, though. Magellan is definitely trying to convince you that your mobile phone screen just won’t do. The Magellan RoadMate 1700 will hit stores on October 10, but you can pre-order one now at Amazon for $299.

Amber Alert GPS 2G lets parents track their kids

For those parents that are nervous about their kids, and really want to know where their children are, then they should probably purchase the Amber Alert GPS 2G device. It works as a GPS beacon, which allows not-so tech savvy parents text to find out the exact location of their kid. True, I’m not certain whether a longitude and latitude will help, but the “Breadcrumbing” feature allows them to track their steps like Billy from the Family Circus. The Amber Alert costs about $379.99, with monthly plans being $9.99 and $59.99.
