Samsung SCH-V770Yes, you read that right.  This is the world’s first 7 megapixel camera phone.  Of course you’re going to need to carry the optical zoom separately, but just think about how sharp those prints are going to be.  The SCH-V770’s has a 1/1.8 inch type CCD image sensor, 3x optical zoom lens, flash and manual focus control. It also has 32 megabytes of internal memory, enough to store what, like 2 pictures at this resolution?

Sony Ericsson continues hitting us with the hot ish in the cell phone category. Case in point, the K751i camera phone. As you can see, it is has the candy bar look, with a 262,000 color 176x220 display. The 2.0 megapixel camera functionality on this phone includes a most welcome auto focus feature. This means that people looking at your moblog will no longer have the sudden urge to rip their eyes out after a minute or two. The K751i also introduces VideoDJ and PhotoDJ apps, allowing users to mess around with animations and photos stored on the phone. It also supports Java games, MP3’s, and has a built-in FM tuner. Throw in Bluetooth, 32 MB of onboard memory (plus an included 64 MB Memory Stick DUO), and a speaker phone and you have a very respectable GSM unit.

LG SV360I’m starting to appreciate gaming on a phone.  It’s always so readily available.  Sure the games oftentimes look like crap, but they’re quick, fun, and best of all cheap.  Looks like handset graphics are really going to improve by leaps and bounds though, as LG’s new SV360 contains ATI’s Imageon 2300 media processor, giving it the power to render over 10,000 triangles per frame.  With that kind of power, they decided to even make the phone interface in 3D.  Coming later this year in all it’s 320x240 glory, we’ll see how the public takes to it, in light of all the Sony/Nintendo handheld action going on.

(Thanks falcoboy7!)

Motorola According to MSNBC, Motorola is supposed to take the wraps of the much anticipated ROKR iTunes phone this Thursday, March 10. The device has been shrouded in mystery, as many have been waiting to see what Motorola and Apple had come up with ever since the initial announcement was made months ago. Motorola has had great success recently with the RAZR V3 line, which catapulted the phone manufacturer to the number 2 spot - right behind Nokia. With more RAZR versions on the way, as well as the PEBL and ROKR lines, Nokia better take heed, quickly.

Security RiskHow secure is your cellular phone’s voice mail? If your cell phone provider is T-Mobile or Sprint PCS it may not be as secure as you think. Recently hackers have found a way to access your voice mail by simply spoofing your phone number using caller ID spoofing systems such as CovertCall and Telespoof. Sprint and T-Mobile give users the option of enabling auto voicemail login where the user may log in to their voice mail automatically when calling from their own cell phone.  The authentication system is simple – it uses the user’s caller ID to validate the number.  If the caller ID matches your cell phone number, then it will log you in automatically. To prove that this is what hackers doing, they were able to access Paris Hilton’s voice mail as well as Vin Diesel’s voice mail after the events of this past weekend.

Gadget #57: The Magic 8 BallWhen I first read MobilePC’s “Greatest Gadgets” article in the magazine’s print edition, I remember thinking to myself: “This is one of the best gear articles I have ever read.  Thank God I didn’t cancel my subscription.”  Two days later, I find out that anyone can find the same article for free at the magazine’s website.  Highly informative, entertaining,  and a must-read for anyone with even a remote interest in consumer technology.  I still won’t cancel my subscription…just in case something else comes up.

DescriptionWell, maybe it isn’t really much of a hack since all it takes is for Paris to leave her mobile device laying around. Nonetheless, this is a great find. Why? You get to see all the pictures Paris takes using her Sidekick, which includes girl-on-girl action. You get to see the kind of notes she leaves to herself, which reveals that she even had unprotected sex once (gasp!), as she needed to remind herself to get a “birth control kill pill”. Oh, and you also get a peek at her entire address/phone book - and she has quite a few you might know of. Ashlee Simpson, David Lechapelle, Ashley Olsen (where’s Mary Kate?), Christina Aguilera, Vin Diesel…or you can see the email addresses of people like Usher. I, for one, am still waiting for a call back from Lil Jon. Careful with the link, as some content may not be appropriate for minors - or for work.

Woody i860  Boost Mobile has launched a limited edition i860 handset by Motorola with classic ‘60’s surf-style wood paneling.  Aside from the gimmick, the i860 still looks like a pretty decent phone, with a hands-free speaker, 4X digital camera, and walkie-talkie capability.  Even though it’s a limited edition phone, $499 does sound pricey though.  I mean, you could pick up the Treo 650 for a little less, actually.  I suppose novelty always comes at a price.
