Samsung SCH-B6000

Let’s give it up to Samsung right now for releasing a camera phone that can actually live up to that moniker. The Samsung SCH-B6000 is a mobile phone that houses a 10-megapixel camera, along with a retractable lens that allows for up to 3x optical zoom. It includes a 2.2-inch 240x320 LCD screen, and can run video at 320x240 at 30 fps. The phone even has a TV Out port, allowing the user to display both photos and video on a television. The phone is rounded out by EV-DO, MP3 player, business card reader, and Digital Multimedia Broadcasting functionality. Unfortunately, this phone will first be released in Korea at a price of about $950 USD. Still, nice to see Samsung leading the way here.

T-Mobile Dash

Looks like my boy John over at CrunchGear got his hands on one of the new T-Mobile Dash phones, and is reporting back with his impressions of the unit. The Dash is the new Moto Q-esque phone by HTC, which runs Windows Mobile 5.0 and has a full QWERTY keyboard. While John’s lack of love for Windows Mobile 5.0 may seem unfair at first, we can totally sympathize. That said, CrunchGear seems to think the phone is an all around good experience, WinMo 5.0 notwithstanding. If you are looking for a consumer-level phone ($199 with 2-year contract) that does more than just play fancy ringtones, this one might be worth a look if you are on T-Mobile (or looking to switch.)

White LG ChocolateWe have seen that an awful lot of you have checked out our LG Chocolate VX8500 review that we published a few weeks ago, so we figure that there are quite a few Chocolate fans out there. Well, for those who waited on the purchase (or for the big spenders,) you might be pleased to know that Verizon is planning a white LG Chocolate phone which should launch sometimes next month. We don’t expect any of the features to be bumped (although, the speakerphone should come already enabled) - but being that this will likely be a special edition, the price may see an increase

Disney Mobile cell phoneAs we reported earlier, Mobile ESPN will be shutting down its service by the end of the year. What we didn’t tell you is that The Walt Disney Company, which owns the service, will lose about $30 million while doing this. Never fear, it is still the happiest kingdom on earth. They plan to rake in the big bucks with their Disney mobile service, which debuted in June.

Disney Chief Financial Officer Tom Staggs says that Disney mobile, “is a very different customer proposition” that is “meeting a fundamental need of families.”

The service allows parents to regulate when, how long, and to whom their children can call, and even has the ability to select which contacts their kids can have. There is also a built-in satellite tracking feature for cell phone location. Disney mobile is available online now or in retail stores with an instant rebate of $99 and other attractive offers. We can see this working for the little ones in your family, but don’t even think about it if you have a teen.
