Gear Live is looking to bring in a couple more writers who know their stuff as it pertains to gadgets, video games, and social networks (like Twitter and Facebook.) You need not be a professional journalist to apply, but you should be able to write like one. What do we mean? Well, for starters, you have to have a strong command of the written English language. You also need to be passionate about the subject matter at hand. If you think you fit the bill, we want to hear from you. We are looking for writers, as well as editors.
Drop us an email at gigs[at]gearlive.com, and provide three sample posts written in the Gear Live style. These need to be original and timely, not something you wrote for the school paper a few years back. Also let us know why we should pick you, and what you can commit to. This is a paid gig, so bring your A-game.

We know we push out a lot of content here on Gear Live, but it's actually prtty easy to stay on top of everything, even if you don't have the chance to visit the site every day. How? Like this:
- Gear Live newsletter: Our free daily newsletter that brings you a wrap-up of all the tops news of the day. We also launch exclusive contests in the newsletter that you might not find on the site itself!
- YouTube: We have a pretty active YouTube channel with almost 500 pieces of content for your viewing pleasure. You can even subscribe and get notified of new videos.
- Kindle: You can get all of Gear Live's news delivered directly to your Kindle!
- Twitter: Gear Live in 140 characters or less.

Vote for Gear Live’s Bleeding Edge TV in the 2012 Podcast Awards!

Alright guys, we need your help. Gear Live's flagship video show, Bleeding Edge TV, is up nominated in two categories in the 8th annual Podcast Awards. What's cool about that is that we never once asked for anyone to submit us for nominations, so you guys did this all on your own and we totally appreciate that! Now that we are in the running, though, we're asking for your assistance!
The two categories we're up for are the People's Choice Award, and Best Video Podcast. Voting is simple--just head over to the Podcast Awards page and choose Bleeding Edge TV in those two categories, and submit your ballot. You'll get an email confirmation link to confirm your vote, and when you click the link, you are done. If you do this once, you are awesome. You can vote once per day, and if you do that, we will love you forever.
If we end up winning here, we'll be running a major giveaway. We won't spoil the surprise (or generate false hope,) but it'll be good. Vonage Mobile has launched, and we're giving away 20 iTunes gift cards to our readers to celebrate! In case you're unaware, Vonage Mobile allows you to make free phone calls to other users of the app (which is currently available for iOS and Android,) anywhere in the world. In addition, you can also send free text messages as well to other users of the app, cross platform, anywhere in the world. Even better, you can call any phone number, and if that other person doesn't have Vonage Mobile, then the rate is much lower than what your mobile carrier would charge, and is even 30% less than what Skype would charge you as well.
The app works over both Wi-Fi and cell service (3G and 4G) and it uses your existing contacts and address book, rather than requiring you to set up a new username, get a new phone number, etc. Even cooler, you don't need a Vonage account to pay for your calls - instead, you just add your minutes right from the App Store or Android Market!
So, how do you enter to win one of the $25 iTunes credits? We've got a few different ways for you to enter. You only need to enter once, but for each method of entry, you gain an additional entry in the contest. Here's how you enter:
- Download the Vonage Mobile app (it's free!)
