Hey folks, sorry for the delay in posting the next match-ups. It’s summertime and sometimes the days just blur together.
It has been an interesting off-season thus far with a few trades, a draft that pretty much went as expected at the top, and some big free agent signings. Yahoo! has a little mock draft going on for anyone jonesing for some fantasy hoop material. I imagine our pick-by-pick mock draft blog will be …

The Fig Cap:
“Yo!”
“Yao!”
“Yo. we’re not on the same team for this thing. So you change.”
“No, you change.”
“Yo!”
“Yao!”
“Okay, fine, I’ll change, but you have to pay me some cash.”
“Can I write a cheque?”

Yee haw! Actually, boo hoo. The NBA season is in the books. Thankfully, before hoops withdrawal sets it after the conclusion of the Finals, we have the draft to look forward to this Thursday, and the rumor mill is already churning. I heard on the radio today that there might be a deal in the works involving Jermaine O’Neal joining up …

The next couple of games in our tourney are going up a bit early due to me having Father’s Day commitments tomorrow. To all the dads and families out there, have a wonderful day. Just finished watching Tiger Woods wrap up his third round...great stuff. Good luck tomorrow, Tiger.
The Celtics meeting the Lakers again in the Finals was supposed …

Given a choice, would you choose to have the career of Kevin Garnett or that of Tim Duncan? TD is hailed as one of the best players ever, maybe top ten all-time. He has four rings and is usually a shoo-in for first team All-NBA. KG has the better street cred, but has not had as much team success as Duncan over the span of …

Congratulations to the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers for making the NBA Finals! It’s a dream match-up that waxes nostalgia for those that discovered the league during the 1980s like myself. Kudos to the NBA schedule makers this year; up until now there was at least one playoff game on almost every night. The hype gets to build for another few days, which leaves everyone lots of time to make their Finals prediction.

Sorry the posts have been a bit slow over the past couple of weeks. I’m back in the game now. Thanks to Sarge for keeping things going a bit. I’ll post our next two games today, and then will launch the last two games of our first round on Sunday, our usual day for posting the match-ups.
Let’s try to …

The Knicks had the fifth worst record this past season. How would “Be Easy” play in the Big Apple? The educated guess would have to be the Knickerbocker faithful would be supremely pleased if the ping pong balls dropped their way when the draft lottery takes place. The Knicks have a new coach in Mike D’Antoni. Who wants to bet he will miss the …

To the three voters for the All-NBA team that did not name Chris Paul to the first team; you need to seriously have your head examined. Two voters picked Steve Nash instead and one vote went to Tracy McGrady. Come on, people! To pick Nash ahead of Paul means you have not watched ball since last season. The Hornets had a better record, …
