Windows XP Crashes 24.5 Million Times A Day
Those of you with Windows XP who have ever had the misfortune of having your system crash are certainly not alone. According to an article by John C. Dvorak, there are an estimated 24.5 million XP crashes a day, for a total of 30 billion each year throughout the world. If you add in estimated crashes for operating systems like ME, 98 and any other Windows platforms, the magic number jumps to 70 million crashes a day. Since kicking your computer won’t fix the situation, the next time you see the Blue Screen of Death you can at least take some comfort knowing you’re not the only one. Or you could just buy a Mac…

“Or you could just buy a Mac…” Hate to break the myth but those crash as well. Or as we like to say you know you are screwed when you see the spinning wheel of death and restarting finder does nothing. Though I will admit, it crashes far less than my XP machine does.

Of the 50 WinXp systems I’ve worked on over the past 2 years, I believe I’ve crashed less that 10 times total. This is no BS! I’d like to know the supposed number of crashes by OS X systems. I bet you won’t like the ratio you would find. Oh, lets throw in OS9, and OS8 just to be fair.
What a joke!

“Windows XP Crashes 24.5 Million Times A Day”
Thats alot of dumb people that dont know how to run windows xp! I have had winxp crash twice in the past 2-3 years. Once when I was trying to use 3rd party drivers for my tv tuner as I was experimenting with other drivers, and cheap bad ram installation. Just one bad sector crashes the kernel easily.

People just do not know how to treat a computer…. I realise windows isn’t the most stable OS but I use Win XP and have not crashed since I bought a new computer around a year ago.
And I’m the kind of guy who downloads enourmously so I don’t even restart my computer for weeks on a go; right now its been 21 days since I rebooted my computer. The only time I reboot is when ‘Automatic Update’ or ‘Norton update’ wants me to…
