Widescreen iPod Video Mock Up

So, the latest rumor on the iPod front is that Apple is readying a new widescreen, officially official iPod video. Not long after
ThinkSecret broke the news
, we now have what we believe to be a very clever mock up of the new product. We are actually hoping for something that doesn’t involve touching the actual screen of the device - maybe a mini click wheel of sorts off to the side, or even on back. Still, it’s an interesting concept to say the least. There are a couple more pictures after the jump.

I hope it DOESN’T have the click wheel separate and that it does in fact support the on screen “gestures” as this would put it one step closer into an Apple PDA, which is one step closer for an Apple Tablet notebook. In either case, great mock up, hopefully it does look something like that.
Two words, finger oil, the screen would smudge very quicly if you needed to make a lot of adjustments, also durability and scratching would be an issue (it already is).
the screen wouldn’t show too many smudges if it had an invisible shield applied to it. IMHO, every ipod should be shipped direct from apple with the invisible shield (www.shieldzone.com).
Apparently, the Iphone is going to (disappointingly) have a 1:5:1 ratio. Surprising they would do that. Does that mean less hope for a 16:9 video ipod?
We wil no longer make the rectangle version anymore. We will make square versions starting in 2008. Repeat, we will no longer make rectangle versions.
I think a iPOD with the touch screen control of the iPhone would be the way to go tht includes the PIM contacts, clanders etc. Would make sense to have the capability to add and update contacts and calenders instead of having to do that on the max thensynch to ipod.
