Ullo Wine Purifier Review

Ullo Wine Purifier review

I’ve never been one to enjoy alcoholic beverages, but when Best Buy asked if I wanted to try out the Ullo Wine Purifier and I looked up what the gadget professes to be able to do, I was immediately intrigued. My wife will definitely enjoy a glass of wine every now and then, and so I knew I could always use her as my guinea pig for this taste test experiment.

Backing up a little bit, let’s talk about what the Ullo Wine Purifier actually is. The device rests in the opening of a wine glass, and you pour your wine right into it. The wine then passes through the Selective Sulfite Capture filter, which removes the sulfites from the wine that often have a bitter taste. It’s an added preservative that ensures that the wine doesn’t turn into vinegar. Additionally, the Ullo has a built-in aerator which you can enable or disable at any time.

In the box, you’ll find the Ullo device itself, also with a silicone display base that also doubles as a drip catcher, four Selective Sulfite Capture filters (each is good for filtering through one bottle of wine,) and a travel bag for easy portability.

To use the Ullo, you just set it into the top of just about any standard wine glass. It has an opening at the top that you pour your wine into after selecting whether you want to use the aerator feature or not. Whether you choose to aerate or not, the Ullo will go to work and remove the sulfites and sediments from the wine, resulting in an enhanced flavor. Additionally, the removal of sulfites will mean less morning after headaches and hangovers, as typically those are caused by a reaction to the sulfite preservatives when drinking just a glass or two.

How to Use Ullo Wine Purifier

In my test, I found that Ullo didn’t change the fact that I don’t like the taste of alcoholic beverages, while my wife found that the flavor was indeed better, and the typical small headaches that she will typically have the following day did indeed disappear. In her opinion, the Ullo is a good value for those who enjoy drinking wine at home who want a better drinking experience, the confidence of not drinking preservatives, and the added bonus of not having to deal with headaches.

You can pick up the Ullo Wine Purifier right now at Best Buy for $79.99. A 4-pack of filters sells for $29.99.
