T-Mobile Uses Pre-WiMax On UK Trains
T-Mobile has started using a pre-cert version of WiMax on trains in the United Kingdom to offer high speed broadband to commuters riding between Brighton and Victoria Station. The Wimax gear is placed on the roof of the train cars, and connects to 37 base stations along the line. T-Mobile intends to up the number of base stations to 60. The service is currently free to riders, who can connect at 802.11b speeds.
