The iPod Touch from Apple comes with various storage capacities. An 8GB iPod Touch will store 1750 songs, 10,000 photos or 10 hours of videos. A 32GB iPod will store 7000 songs, 40,000 photos or 40 hours of video. A 64GB iPod Touch will store 14,000 songs, 90,000 photos or 80 hours of video. These storage details are obviously based on if you were to completely fill your iPod with just music, or just videos, etc. The 5th generation iPod Touch is available with either 32GB or 64GB storage capacity, and these storage details still apply.

In terms of a combination between storage space and performance, you can’t beat the iPod Touch. The iPod Shuffle, although boasting a terrific sleek, lightweight design, only supports 2GB of storage. The iPod Nano is better, combining its small, slim shape with a decent 16GB storage space. The iPod classic holds an impressive 160GB of content, but doesn’t support games and apps like the iPod Touch, and is a little on the chunky side when compared to all other iPods. Being able to store games, videos, apps, music, books and photos on one handy device is a terrific opportunity, and the audio and visual playback on the iPod Touch is so good that you are sure to want to do all of these things.

Although the iPod Touch boasts plenty of storage space, it doesn’t take long to fill up. Between all the songs, videos, apps, games and photos that the device can hold, it’s only a matter of time before you are out of space. Here are a few handy tips to free up space on your iPod:

• Use standard definition videos. High definition videos are definitely better to watch, but they take up far more space than standard definition. If you plan on storing videos, stick to standard definition, or if you would rather watch in HD then delete the videos as you go along

• Delete unused apps and completed games. If you no longer use an app or game, then keeping it on your device just means using up valuable space. The App Store records details of any app of game you download, so you can always re-download the app at a later date at no extra cost

• Rotate your music. Rather than putting your entire iTunes collection straight onto your iPod, just rotate what music you store and listen to at regular intervals.
