Sirius iPod Nixed By Steve Jobs
While it would have been sweet, Steve Jobs decided that the Apple iPod did not need the ability to play Sirius satellite radio. According to Sirius CEO Mel Karmazin at the 2005 Media Summit, he spoke with Steve about an iPod with an integrated Sirius receiver - even going to far as to trademark the name “SkyPod”. Sirius rival XM Satellite Radio launched a portable receiver last year in the Delphi XM MyFi. If everything goes according to plan, Sirius will have their own portable receiver on the market by years end.

I would have loved to have seen an Ipod with Sirius capabilities. It would have been a great step in the way of portable music but, I still wouldn’t buy one due to the extreme pricing.
