RIM Sets Blackberry 10 launch date for January 30th

Remember RIM? You know, the maker of the BlackBerry, once so famous it was dubbed CrackBerry? Well, don't count them out just yet. It's made an official announcement regarding the launch of BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system and new smartphone hardware for January 30, 2013. 

Last week BlackBerry 10, formally known as QNX real time operating system, received US government certification approval for Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 FIPS. Despite Research In Motion's strong background in back-end security, it is unknown if that alone will help them make significant headway past Apple's iOS penetration into the enterprise market; not to mention the exponential rate of consumer adoption as well as Google's Android leading market share in smartphones. Clearly, the Canadian smartphone maker has its work cutout for them.
