Barack Obama Official Web Site Change.gov
Moving right along, Pres-elect Barack Obama already has his own new official site. Change.gov features a countdown to the inauguration, updates on what he is doing and asks for input on personal stories concerning the election and the road you took to get there. There is also information concerning his future policy, agenda and a page to apply for a gig in the new administration. Sadly, there is no news yet about the puppy, which Obama claims is the topic of about 50% of the emails he receives.
Oh, and for an added tidbit, Obama’s site runs on ExpressionEngine - the same publishing tool we use here to run Gear Live. We recommend it to anyone.

I am a great grandmother raising an 8 yr. old. I would like to see more help for grandparents raising grandchildren. We receive no financial help nor help with insurance since we are on Medicare. I hope this issue is taken seriously in Congress and we receive the help we need to raise these children.

I am so glad to see this kind of information exchange. Good communication is the beginning of better government.
I just finished Barak’s biography. A better situation for young people in America is very important to me, a retired school teacher. I was so struck by the despair of the young people in Chicago. It’s hard to believe that everyone has a right to the American Dream when young people see nothing but hardship and defeat around them. But ideals and hope go hand in hand and good leader gives idealism to the people by his example.
I am so grateful that Barak Obama has won, and i hope to be able to help in any way I can.

Congratulations on your historic win. As you have correctly said the Economy is your urgent priority-also tackling the world financil crisis. The financial system of the world needs change-a new Bretton Woods and China, India and Brazil needs to be included in the discussions. You havs also said that US auto industury needs help but first before you give any financial assistance they need to put their house in order a close look at their management set up and financing has to change before fedral funds are allocated.
I suggest that you appoint as your Treasury Secretary Timonthy Geithner-he would be the one to spear head the vital reforms both in the US and in the world financial system
As for the situation in Sri Lanka I suggest that you knock the heads of the President and the Opposition Leader to work towards a political solution to the ethnic issue. Strongly encouraging them to implement the 13th Amendment and the proposals of the APRC.

Thankfully you got elected! I’m sorry that it had to be during these trying times.
May I submit that the mortgage crisis is probably the worst…
Even if the interest rates go down further, people are not going to be able to refinance the total principal they owe—their home values have dropped considerably.
In California, property tax assessments have been recalculated accordingly, but the mortgage companies often WON’T refinance the total (inflated) mortgage.
Can’t the mortgage companies sacrifice for the common good and forgive the inflated price in favor of the current value of the homes? Better that than the costs of reposessing etc.
Perhaps, when the values return, price/payments could then be renegotiated.

Pres-Elect Obama: I voted for you because I really thought you could CHANGE the direction of this Country!
Even though I have a disease called MS, stem cell research seems to be the best bet in
healing this and many other diseases, but am encouraging you to stop abortions and develope other means of obtaining this type of tissue. Many Catholics in this community did not vote for you because of your stance on Abortion!
I do offer some comments on other issues: 1) Embrace the man and his understanding
(Al Gore, of course) as to his ideas’ on global warming and climate change before you
preside in the strongest nation on a dying planet, and 2) please don’t be as eager as our last Presidents in battle engagements in foreign countries or using Miltiary Might
because it only diivides our own conutry and we always seem to leave with our tails between our legs without a “misson-accomplished” goal.
God Bless, for your task ahead,
Nicholas Buccina

Dear President-elect Obama, I just want to wish you the blessings of strength, patience, and insight as you begin the hardest job the world has ever known. I have hoped for you to be president of this country since I read your first book. I saw presidential material in every chapter, and was thrilled to hear it when you decided to seek the presidency. I am almost 53 years old, and have never felt so confident in a leader as I do in you. My oldest daughter is 30, and voted for the first time in her life, confident as I was in the leadership you would provide to her and the country. I hope the rest of the country who is not with you now, realizes that you are the best thing that has happened to our country in decades. Of course, it is a monumental task for any leader in this unforgiving world we live in, but I hope God gives you the extra graces you, your family, and the people who work with you will need to bring us all together in peace and prosperity. God bless you, Barack Obama.

It is said that to take the true measure of a man, one should attend to what he does not what he says.. You say you fiercely support rights for gays and lesbians, and yet you choose a man who denies membership in his church to gays and lesbians to give your inaugural invocation. Giving Rick Warren such a prominent role demonstrates bad judgment. This country cannot survive another president with bad judgment, another president who is unable to take the true measure of other men.

It can be easily mentioned that law plays a vital role in arranging the mob in a systematic manner. So, one should never fail to follow laws of any kind, concerning anything.
