Nissan Leaf: Zero Emissions, Total Affordability
I think we all know that cars are one of the worst polluters on the planet today, and so I find it nice of Nissan to introduce the greener Leaf, a car that has zero emissions. The Nissan Leaf has a lithium ion battery-powered chassis that is good for 160km (100 miles) on a single charge. Best of all, its lack of a tailpipe can reduce one’s “carbon footprint” significantly. I don’t have a price for it yet, but it should be “affordable” to the family of five that it has room for. The car is slated to launch late next year in Japan, the United States, and Europe.

Ok question look at the pic of the speedometer and if it is all electric why is there a gas pump and one pointing to where the gas tank is? luv the look of the car though

The symbol is actually a fuel indicator. Not a gas symbol. It could be petrol/diesel or battery.

this is an awesome lokoing car and superb to drive, absolutely whisper quiet, check out bbc news they are covering it today on their website, it’s going ti arrive in the UK on March 20111 and reatil for around £28k, with the government subsidy of £5 you should be able to get it for £23k. Bear in mind it can reach top speads of 90mph but will need 8hrs to charge the battery to full, from flat.

the car is retailing at £28k, or at leats it will be when it comes to the UK in March, not my idea of affordability, you could buy a top of the range BMW at that money http://www.autovip.co.uk

i really love the idea of an electric car, bmw or otherwise but the running costs so far have shown to be higher than any petrol or diesel car, it will be interesting to see if the hydrogen car from Honda will be any better. Great post.
