Times Square Ball Flashes with Multi-Colored LEDs
Ready for New Years Eve? It may interest you to know that finally the Times Square Ball has gone green on its 100th anniversary. Unveiled at Macy’s earlier this month, the ball is constructed of Waterford crystal, is twice as bright as past ones, and will now have more color and energy-saving LED effects thanks to Philips.
Tim Tompkins, President of the Times Square Alliance says, “It’s that same spirit of renewal and new beginnings that brings people here from across the globe, in person or in spirit while watching from home, on New Year’s Eve every year.”
We don’t know about that, but it certainly wouldn’t be a proper New Year without it. Have a good one, Gear Livers!
