Rockabye Baby Turns Classic Rock Into Lullabies

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Household, Misc. Tech, Music, Portable Audio / Video

Björk Rockabye BabyWhen was the last time you played Metallica to rock your infants to sleep? Rockabye Baby has taken rock classics and transformed them into lullabies with the use of such instruments as the glockenspiel, vibraphone, and mellotron. Led Zepplin, Coldplay, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, U2, the Beatles, and Nine Inch Nails are just a few of the musical groups from which to choose. Buy three at $16.98 apiece and receive free shipping. We think this is an excellent idea to get any fussy baby to lie down and crash to some superior tunes.

Hey, nice idea, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Everyone should force their small children to listen to Bjork!

LOL

How do you suppose they’d pull off Bjork lullaby style?  She’s full of dynamics: from whispering to screaming.  I think her music - even if successfully arranged in lullaby fashion - would still throw kids off.  I mean, it would start off being soothing then explode in something musical to wake them up.  But then, with her “Vespertine,” album, it does have baby-friendly instruments in there as it is - including a music box.

Hi Olivia,

You have a point, but Bjork has had kids, so I am sure she has enuf sense not to scare the bejesus out of them as they fall into The Big Sleep.  I saw her once in Detroit, was a good show.  So you are a lawyer in Seattle?  I am an artist who happens to be a member of the State Bar of Michigan, but I am semi-retired from law.

Hope you check out my art.  If you go to links page and then my YouTube page, I shot a vid of Bjork singing “Pluto” during that Detroit gig a few years back…..

Mike.

Hey Mike,

Bjork DOES has a son: Sindri.  smile She had him while she was still with The Sugarcubes.  I think he’s a teenager (or a full blown out adult) by now. Anyway, I’m looking for that links page you mentioned and I can’t find it. Augh.
