Cuba To Permit Computers
Who knew something that we take for granted has been banned for years in other countries? Cuba is now allowing unrestricted sale of computers, DVD players and VCRs. They are also allowing air conditioners, toasters, and other small appliances after 2010, which were prohibited because of limited power resources. New pres Raul Castro said, “The country’s priority will be to meet the basic needs of the population, both material and spiritual.”
Ironically, even though the country is now free to buy computers, the government still controls Internet access.
