Livescribe Pulse Smartpen Finally Available
We finally received word from Livescribe that the Pulse Smartpen has arrived and is ready to order. Choose between a 1GB for $149.99 and a 2GB model for $199.99 with up to 200 hours of recording time. You can also purchase extra cartridges and a 4-pack of single spiral notebooks (one comes with the pen.) While still only compatible with Windows, the company says that they are working on a Mac version. Expect a ship date of about 4 to 6 weeks from purchase date, just in time to get back to school after Spring Break.

Wow, I had heard about something like this awhile back, but I am glad they have finally made it available for everyone to purchase! It is quite expensive though, but often that is about the premium for getting a Tablet PC, so if you were going to get a Tablet for taking notes, you could just put the money towards this instead…

I have been using this pen for just over a month now and I absolutely love it. I had been looking for something that would import my notes to the computer for a while but did not want to give up the “pen and paper” concept. I write all of my work notes in pen and even do diagrams and never had a way to share with my co workers as I work remote. This pen was my solution and even had benefits that I wasn’t looking for such as voice recording. The software is very simple to use and I really like that I can upload to the website and allow specific people to view specific pages. I have found the imports to be very accurate to my actual handwriting as well.
