iPhone 3G and iPhone OldSchool side-by-side
If you are tired of all the mockups that try to show the size differences between the iPhone 3G and the original iPhone, we’ve finally got an image of the two phones, side-by-side. The main difference here is that you have a uniform color on the back of the phone, rather than the odd black bottom that we never really enjoyed on the original. Here’s what iLounge had to say:
The 0.48” depth is thicker than the touch (0.31″), 80GB classic (0.41″), and original iPhone (0.46″) but thinner than the 160GB classic (0.53″), and tapered at the sides for the appearance of thinness. At 4.7 ounces, it weighs more than iPod touch (4.2), but less than the iPod classic (4.9-5.7 oz.).
Anyhoo, expect a lot more of these come July 11th.

I actually really like the white one. Its to bad its only going to be 16gb!
I hope to get one from Rogers when it comes to Canada providing it isn’t impossible to get.

Wow, the black on the back is very shiny and nice! I’m definitely looking forward to more pictures of the iPhone 3G in the next few weeks and drooling over them, haha.
iLounge does take gorgeous pictures of all the “new” products and it’s probably one of the sites I go to to check out the product. I remember heading over to iLounge when the 3G iPod Nano were introduced.

To me looking at the picture they look the same. The only difference is that the one on the right is black which is the one I would go with and the one on the left is white with black bottom. And I am sure that what it does is improved from the old one to.

I think the gearlive one is nicer looking than the new one, your paint job is much better. The old school iphone is still very nice looking a classic. july 11 is just around the corner. Will you be doing a Unboxing Live
episode for the new iphone?

When I first saw the black plastic, I didn’t think that I would like it, but after a while I started to like it better than the metal back. I hope it isn’t as easy to slip out of your hand like the metal back.
