Heads up, we are giving away an HP HDX Dragon notebook - 31 Days of the Dragon

HP HDX Dragon

Hey, remember that HDX Dragon PC that we unboxed a few months ago? Well, HP has gone and upgraded the specs on that puppy, and they want us to give one of them to you guys. Not just the computer, but a few movies, a few PC games, and a bunch of software too. All in all, if you were to purchase everything we are giving away on your own, you’d end up spending somewhere around $5,196.00. Yeah, I said it. Go ahead and read that again.

No, here is the real kicker. Now only are we here at Gear Live giving away one of these beasts, but thirty other sites are also going to be giving away the exact same package, including our friends over at ArsTechnica, Lockergnome, JKOnTheRun, and Jake Ludington’s MediaBlab. That means you have 31 chances to win. Seriously. That’s why we are calling it .

Now, each site is going to set their own criteria for how they are going to run things, and we will be announcing what we will be doing soon. Our giveaway date for the HDX Dragon is June 7, 2008. You’d better keep it locked here, peeps. Oh, and anyone in the world is eligible to win.

Hit the break for the full scoop on everything we are giving away, which other sites are also giving these away, and an unboxing video of the HDX Dragon.

Above, you can check out the video unboxing of the last-gen HDX Dragon that we got our hands on. The one we are giving away is the absolute, top of the line, newest model. You know how we do. So, here’s what we are giving away:

It’s meant to be for play as much as work, and to that end, it also packs a Blu-ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD double layer burner, integrated TV tuner, webcam and microphone. If you went and bought this yourself, it would cost $4,500 USD. But we’re not done yet…

Latest Gear Live Videos

That is one unbelievably nice laptop. I do hope that you don’t make the giveaway entry method too difficult, though. While I can understand a site admin’s desire to make the entry a little touch using methods like making a certain type of video or seeing who can rake up the most links back to a site on the internet, these methods come off as really irritating to users. I’m hoping for something along the lines of taking a photo of yourself next to the Gear Live homepage (on a computer screen) and sending it in. It’s not too tough, but it keeps the people who roam the internet looking for easy-entry contests away. I know I would love to get a computer as amazing as that for free.

Just thought I’d make a quick note on your unboxing video. It doesn’t have an HD-DVD player. It has a Blu-ray player. They’re two different things. Otherwise, nice unboxing. That computer is almost too nice.

@Admiral_kirk - As stated in the article, the one we unboxed was the older model, and it *did* have HD DVD in it. The NEW ONE that we are giving away is the ultimate, top of the line model, and of course will feature a Blu-ray player, since HD DVD is dead. wink

Why I need This Laptop:

I am a student pursuing my graduation, not because I am a graduate but I am in a need of good computer which can work little bit faster, and I cannot afford to buy a computer which is fast because it is costly.

Reason Why I selected this laptop:

First of all it is from Greatest company Hp.

Secondly, It is providing the greatest operating system in the world.

Third, it has great features, ultimate and superb features presently that too in a small laptop.

Four,It is providing the genuine versions of softwares

like windows vista that too for free(Thank Microsoft and Hp.).

Great technical support from the company if we get any problem that too very fast, I heard that it is an award-winning support service.I congratulate the team.

And last and important, anti virus to protect our computer- i.e.; Symantec Norton Internet Security 2008

The most important thing with a computer that too for a student like me is a printer which is given by the Hp i.e.;HP Imprint Finish (Dragon)

and the coolest technology fingerprint reader, a microphone.

Bluetooth connection, graphics card and all.

Sir consider my request to gift me with this laptop.

I would be thankful to you.

I especially thank all teh blogs and gearlive.com “Andru Edwards “for conducting this contest, and last but not the least I like playing games a lot which can be fulfilled by The great Hp HDX Dragon laptop.

Thank you.
