Gateway FX 541

Gateway released several new desktops this week, including the next generation of their GT, DX, and FX series. If you are looking for the fastest Gateway in the West, the FX 541 features an Intel Core 2 Quad to Intel Core 2 Extreme processor, 3GB RAM, dual PCIe x16 slots with SLI support, a 9-in-1 media card reader, dual Gigabit Ethernet connection, and dual NVIDIA 8800 GT over-clocked video cards. Prices range from $1,199.99 to $3,499.99. Notice the absence of anything bovine.

I don’t understand how the computers turn out to be around $3,000.  Perhaps thats because I’m judging the price based on the specs.  The specs are good, but you can get all of that for under $3,000.  It may be the design of this system and because the system is specifically built for gaming.

NVIDIA 8800 GT over-clocked,the best card in the world right now.i tihnk the price shoots up ‘coz of Intel Core 2 Extreme processor ,all extreme processors are top end and top priced.

Gateway has some fast systems out there, this one seems smokin, But being a Mac Man, I’ll stick with the old tried and true just the same.
