iPhone 1.1.4 Firmware Update now available, already jailbroken

iPhone 1.1.4 firmware

Looks like we have new firmware as well this morning! In addition to refreshing their MacBook and MacBook Pro lines to Penryn processors, has also released the new iPhone 1.1.4 firmware. Go ahead and check for a new update after connecting your iPhone to iTunes. Of course, if you are

jailbroken or

unlocked, you may want to wait for a bit while everything gets figured out. Apple is saying this release is all about bug fixes - but we are hoping there is also some iPhone SDK magic in there somewhere.

EDIT: Okay, if you are jailbroken, go ahead and update. ZiPhone still works, and will jailbreak the just-released 1.1.4 firmware update…although the developer recommends waiting until he can fully test. Your call.

so what features are there with 1.1.4? is there going to be a video?

No Flash support. Darn. Guess the source went bad.

Hey Bob,

We are still holding out hope for Flash. Like I speculated, I think it will be alongside the SDK…but who knows when THAT will launch? wink

i dont get it do u have to upgrade it to 1.1.4 by itunes before you could jailbreak it or the the Ziphone does it all for it like the 1.1.3 speacil Insteall? that gave you the firmware beark alredy?

What is added on 1.1.4 .. any new features ?

OK - So I downloaded it and I really see no difference.  Programs run the same, no new applications, etc.  I have never jail broken my iphone.  However, I have to wonder why such a large firmware update.  It was over 160 MB.  The previous 3 were not that big, at least not that I remember them being. I can only assume that Apple has put the SDK in this firmware update - even if hidden.  Obviously iTunes will be where we go to download 3rd party apps once they become available.  It only makes sense that Apple releases the firmware first, hides it in the root programming, and then within a week or so will update iTunes and that will have the approved 3rd party apps with it.  Am I crazy for thinking this?  It just sems kind of obvious with no info about the firmware update from Apple.  Every other firmware update had detailed explainations as to what the firmware updates did (multi-party text, iclips, etc.)  Silence from Apple can only mean that we now have 3rd party support, but we have to wait for them to launch it on iTunes for it to work.

good thinking phil.. you are most likey right about this

Hi bob,

I had installed the themes thru installer application.then was changing the theme on my 1.1.4 iphone, and soon i selected one of the themes which i had installed ,it suddenly froze (just after changing the theme). I gave it around 10 minutes, it did not respond, and tried turning it off, locking it, and hitting the home button, but nothing made it react. Eventually I went into forced restore mode, but now it is paused on the loading screen (with the apple logo) and it will do nothing at all. When plugged into my computer it gets connected with iTunes and also can access. but phone screen is freezed.. just apple logo is coming with the cursor moving continously and doesnt procees further , hv also pressed home & power button together, and when i again on it,it remains the same.

please help me out ..........
would be greatfulllllll
