iPhone 1.1.3 Jailbreak app for OS X now available

iPhone 1.1.3 jailbreak OS X

Here’s a quick update for you owners running OS X who want to get in on the 1.1.3 jailbreaking fun. We told you that Nate was working on a solution for Mac users, and he just published it. It isn’t as pretty as is on the Windows side of things, but it works. Click below to download the DMG file, which will launch Terminal. Follow the instructions in the Terminal window, and you are good to go.

We will have video tutorials available soon over at Bleeding Edge TV. For more info on the OS X download, hit the 1.1.3 jailbreak page.

UPDATE: Here is a video tutorial showing you how to jailbreak your 1.1.3 iPhone on OS X!

this all looks awesome! but…. the run_this file doesn’t seem to run for me.  it says “there is no default program to open the document run_this”
any suggestions?

Terminal isn’t opening up as mentioned…the file isn’t opening either.

ok nevermind…. I opened terminal and dragged"run me” to terminal and it seems to be working.

sorry i figured it out…
if you are having a hard time figuring it out, you need to open a program called terminal which is located in applications/utilites and then drag run_this to that window.

I followed the OSX procedure and got a funny and unhelpful response in Terminal—“you have version . you must have version 1.1.1 or 1.1.2” . thing is, i have 1.1.2 (jailbroken) on my phone. Any suggestions?

I’m having problems as well. The firmware and patch download just fine, but the “Uploading image” stage takes a second, instead of the several minutes it’s supposed to take. Then the 1.1.3 “soft upgrade” step fails as well in Installer.app.

Any ideas?

Ugh.  Followed the procedure and all went well, but when I was installing the 1.1.3 soft upgrade from the installer app, my phone crashed (black screen).  It wouldn’t turn on at all until I held the home and power buttons. Then I was greeted with the recovery mode symbol.

Ah well, I gotta get to work, so I guess I’ll be unjailbroken 1.1.3 for now. (Dont have time to research how to backtrack to 1.1.2…)

I’m guessing with the failure of this (for some), we will be stuck with 1.1.3 until that can be jailbroken.

It’s interesting using a nonjailbroken phone in quite sometime.

The only thing I really miss is the icon for AddressBook.  I thought that had been made a regular part of the firmware…

In regards to my previous comment: I was running the script on a PPC machine, and it requires Intel.

Now I get “main script execution failed”. Ah, well.

hey…i have a jailbroken 1.1.2 iphone…im nervous to try this based on previous comments in which i have read… does any one have any thing good to say about this hack and also does any one have a good guide on how to jailbreake 1.1.3…

basically don’t do this just get your jailbroken 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 go on Installer.ap and use the official 1.1.3 upgrader on there . Sorted
