Hewlett-Packard’s R837 Digital Camera Removes “Glow Eye” from Pets

Cat with Glow Eye before and after Ok, fess up. You know you take as many photos of your pets Fido and Woody as you do of your newborn. But we bet most of those photos have “glow eye”, where your pet’s retina has that eerie “Village of the Damned”-look much like “red eye” in humans. The folks at Hewlett-Packard feel your pain, so it’s introducing the R837, a digital camera with built-in software that replaces the glow with a more realistic black dot. It even adds a small white dot to the eye, to show the direction Woody is looking at. In addition to having 7.2 MP, a 3X optical zoom and 3” display, the R837 also includes software that does away with blemishes and wrinkles—in humans, not pets. The R837 will be available next month for $230. However, the 1960 British horror classic “Village of the Damned” (and its sequel) are available now…
