October 12 Apple Event: iPod video? New Powerbooks? Who Knows?

Apple October 12What did we tell you? Sources told us that another iPod announcement wasn’t too far off - although we thought it wouldn’t come until November. That may still be the case, as ThinkSecret believes that Apple is just priming everyone for a PowerBook and Power Mac spec update. That would leave November open for us to be 100% right - but analysts are a-buzzin’, and many believe that the iPod movie or iPod video or Video iPod is a sure bet for the 12th. I mean, why else have theater curtains on the invitation? That being said, there is no reason that Apple can’t make more than one announcement. How about an iVideo Movie Store integrated into iTunes while we’re at it?
No that's not going to happen (sadly..) because they are milking the iPod and iPod nano, as soon as sales start to dramatically drop they will then introduce the iPod Photo, I know it will happen just not in November. Thanks, Hassan
Liar liar pants on fire :P

Latino spam spamming crap, Im not lieing.

Thanks, Hassan
Interesting take. The iPod continues to be a top seller, not only for Apple, but among all the MP3 players. Video on an iPod is probably the most requested feature for a next iPod. However, they'll probably upgrade the 20 to a 30 (just like their little mess up showed). The whole video sniplets in the code probably has to do with a (possible) video store or who knows it could just be something to do with iTunes capability for playing video which is known that it can do. Whatever it is, I'm sure they'll make tons and tons of money.

I think it's def. possible! Media Players are becoming more and more popular.. Why wouldn't they?

theyll probably launch it in late January early febuary. Everyone will recive new nanos and chepaer photo ipod for christmas and other holidays. Once everyone has opened their gift downloaded some tunes and used it for a few weeks theyll introduce the video ipod so everyone goes and buy one of them.

And I am not an expert Im just saying that they just released something based on sales they aren't going to come out with a video iPod just yet. It was a comment not a fact.

I hope video comes out soon... My 20GB 4th gen iPod is F*cked up, not working right anymore, I get all kinds of crazy errors when trying to put music on it, and when I had music on it, it wouldnt play and then erased everything....

I was thinking before about how this would be a really good idea, when I was looking at my friend's photo ipod I was thinking that a music video would look awesome on there. But it would be freakin expensive, I can't even afford any of the ipods out now.

I don't think the Nano will do much to hurt the Video iPod sales. The Nano replaces the Mini and it has different uses than a Video iPod will have. Nano is for short trips or working out and the Video iPod is more of a long flight or sitting at school all day player. I still think the Video iPod is going to be late 1st/early 2nd quarter 2006. Maybe they'll have Bluetooth in it...
