NFL and Yahoo Offer Game Pass

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Home Entertainment, Internet

yahoosportsThe Good News: The NFL has announced that it will now stream the entire season (which starts this Sunday) of live games to fans over the Internet.

The Bad News: this service is only available outside of North America.

More Bad News: NFL Game Pass is not compatible with Unix or Linux.
Partnered with Yahoo’s NFL Game Pass, the cost is $24.99 per week or $249.99 for the entire 17-week season. Since DirecTV has exclusive market broadcast rights, the service will not be available in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Antigua, or any of the U.S. territories.

System Recommendations:

  • 500 MHZ or faster processor
  • 512 MB or more RAM
  • 16-bit sound card
  • 64MB video card
  • 300kbps or higher broadband internet connection
  • Flash 8 PC
  • Windows XP
  • Windows Media Player 10 or higher Mac
  • OS 10.4 or higher
  • Safari 2.0 or Firefox 1.5 or higher
  • Quicktime version 7.0.3 or greater
  • FlipforMac 2.0 or greater

Try it if you are in North America and you get this scary message, “This service is not available in your location. You are attempting to access from a restricted territory.” Big Brother is surely watching us.

Just pass your tcp packets through an international proxy server. but its still way too expensive. With all the damn commercials, its should be free.

Just bought Week 2 of Game Pass and it totally sucks.  Stream problems, audio/video breakdown, player problems, and support was absolutely no help (delete all your cookies?).  I’m glad I only paid for one week since the service is non-refundable.  DO NOT BUY THIS SERVICE.

Yahoo NFL Gamepass is a JOKE! Horrible streaming, NO customer support, no refunds, there is absolutely noone available to talk to….who is running the show over here?! I’ve ordered season passes with NBA and MLB and all of them provide a refund and customer service. Why would someone spend $279 without having customer support help? The website has no answers and the different subscriptions is not clear. I’m so thankful I did not buy a season pass. $24.99 for a week? What a joke….I can go to a sports bar and have a great lunch and pitchers of beer for that price.

On a business trip to Japan and wanted to catch up on some NFL games so I tried to sign up for the weekly pass to test it out. When it came up for my credit card info, the screen was blank. After about 15 minutes, I gave up.

Last week, Gamepass would not accept my credit card information, even though I’ve used the same card to make purchases online and even in Europe. This week, the payment screen just froze. You have to be kidding me, right? I emailed the customer support people over 5 times and never got a response back, even though they say they will respond shortly. This service will never get my money. I’m going to just buy a SlingBox.

You’d think that they could at least spend $2 / hour and hire someone from India or the Philippines to provide customer support help to answer questions. Also, I can’t believe they would not let you watch a quarter of a game or something as a trial period, especially since they don’t offer any refunds. For $299, you might as well buy a Tivo and Sling Media and you could catch all the NFL games anyways. Come on Yahoo and NFL, two billion dollar companies can do better than this!

I want to catch my Niners this weekend so I’m trying to put in my credit card info. But when I type in the number, it says “invalid entry”. So I double-check, triple-check, and still doesn’t work on my mastercard. Fine, I take out my Visa card and it does the same thing. I make a phone call to my friend in California and ask him to put it on his card….maybe since I’m in Asia or something, it’s not taking. But it’s doing the same thing with him. Forget it.

Caught the Steelers game this weekend. Woke up in the morning and went to nfl.com/gamepass to login to watch the game. When the home page opened up, ALL THE FREAKIN SCORES WAS ON THE FRONT PAGE!!!!! WHO IS THE FREAKIN IDIOT THAT CAME UP WITH THAT BRILLIANT IDEA?!!? I swear, whoever is running this program cannot have more than two brain cells.

The price is ridiculous! They expect me to pay $200 just to watch my favorite team’s games?  That’s only about 16 games.  I just paid MLB $20 to watch the ENTIRE playoffs (potentially 49 games)! What a joke.

I am horny, where is my whore?
