Next iPhone to be announced September 12, released on September 21?
It's the time of year where Apple fans wait with bated breath for the next iPhone release, and iMore has rumors of when we can expect to see the iPhone 5 (or whatever Apple ends up calling it) make its debut.
According to the site, Apple will hold the press conference keynote on Wednesday, September 12. The new iPhone will be shown off in all its glory to the press on that day, and should then go on sale nine days later on Friday, September 21.
Another major tidbit of note is that iMore also reports that the 7.8-inch iPad mini will also be announced at the same September 12 event, as well as the redesigned iPod nano. Our guess is that a redesigned iPod touch would also be a part of the festivities of the day.
We'll be keeping on top of the iPhone, iPod, and iPad news, and will update with any confirmations (or denials) of the above information. As of right now, Intel has the Moscone Center reserved, and we can't see both Apple and Intel sharing the space. That said, Apple can easily use it's on-campus town hall for the announcement, but it's a much smaller venue. Rest assured, though, that even if the dates are off, they're close. The new iPhone will certainly be launching this fall a few days after the release of iOS 6.
