GagaVille, the Lady Gaga-FarmVille mash-up, is now live
From today until May 26, GagaVille invites users to "execute Gaga-themed quests" and unlock songs from Lady Gaga's upcoming album, "Born This Way," which hits stores on May 23.
As Zynga announced last week, GagaVille is a marketing partnership with Lady Gaga and Clear Channel Radio. The game gives fans access to Clear Channel's iHeartRadio player, and an exclusive preview to the diva's upcoming album.
Fans who buy $25 worth of FarmVille game credits through Best Buy will also get to download the entire album for free.
Lady Gaga, who has been described as "hands-on" in her marketing collaborations, said in a statement, "I want to celebrate and share 'Born This Way' with my little monsters in a special way that's never been done before. Zynga has created a magical place in FarmVille where my fans can come play, and be the first to listen to the album."
For old FarmVille hands, GagaVille is just like regular FarmVille, but with lots of added glam. GagaVille adds new Crops (Chrome Daisies, Electric Roses, Crystals), new Goods (Crystalmist Wine, Shiny Daisy Cake, Rose Flame Candle, Spark Rose Mead), new Market items (like a Crystal Fountain and Gem Tree) and new Quests. As users execute quests they can unlock free Lady Gaga music.
GagaVille also dresses up some of the animals in the Animals tab, giving sheep a "two-story hat" inspired by Lady Gaga's Fame Monster costume, and adding leather chokers and bracelets to a Lisa Frank-inspired horse called the Purple Ponytail Horse (pictured). For fans, it's hours of fun.
