Jaht Technology Bluetooth and WiFi Antenna/Dongle Impressions

I’d never heard of Jaht until recently.  But I found myself in need of a BlueTooth dongle and a better wireless antenna for my PC (my PowerBook has both built in) so I did some bargain shopping.  I found both on NewEgg for a grand total of $20 including shipping while they were running a damn good sale, and despite my misgivings about ordering things made by a company I’d never heard of, I decided to gamble that $20 was too good a deal to pass up.  I ended up being absolutely right.

The Jaht 7 dBi 2.4GHz RF dome antenna gives you a drastic increase in signal recieving power over the standard “comes-with-your-WiFi-card” antenna.  It’s about the size of a hockey puck and has a four foot cable allowing you to place it for optimal signal pickup — and it even has holes on the back to make it easy to wall-mount.  I couldn’t be happier with this — it gave me the boost I needed to pick up a nice strong signal on my PC, which is located at (literally) the exact opposite side of our apartment from the wireless base station. 

For $10 and free shipping, the price was right - it’s worth far more than I paid for it, and it works like a charm.

I was equally pleased with my USB 1.2 BlueTooth Dongle.  I just plugged it in, installed the drivers and away I went - Bluetooth in no time.  My only beef with this dongle is that it has a very bright blue LED.  The brightness might bother some people, but to be honest I’m just bothered by the fact that it’s blue - my cold-cathode lights and my box lights are all custom done in purple, I don’t need a blue LED messing up the effect!  Anyway, aside from my vanity, this is another homerun from this previously unknown-to-me company, and again for $8.00 with $2.00 shipping from NewEgg a while ago, it was a steal.

Overall, I’m impressed by my first two products manufactured by Jaht and will definately use their products in the future — they come priced well and well made.
