Belkin 802.11g Router for $24.99
I know, all these deals are too good to be true - but this one is actually worth it. Why? No rebates involved. If you have yet to take the wireless network plunge, or if you just want an extra 802.11g router to mess around with, Buy.com has the Belkin F5D7230-4 Wireless G Router on sale for $25 USD. It doesn’t get much better than that.

It’s a good router. I bought it two days ago at Circuit City for 9.95 after rebates. Also picked up a belkin PCMCIA wireless card for my VAIO for 14.95. Both the router and the card are 802.11G and work perfectly.

Ok does this router help you share a dsl connection with another computer? Cause I have 2 computers and I would like to share my dsl connectin. If it does do I need something in addition to the router like th card that this guy bought or not?

Yeah, this router works with either DSL or Cable. I have it hooked up to my Time Warner Cable connection and it’s flawless.
If you want to hook up two computers the only extra thing you would need would be an extra “straight” ethernet cable.
You would hook an ethernet cable from your DSL modem/bridge to the router then a cable from the router to each computer. Pop in the Belkin software that is supplied with the device and it is up and running within moments.
A PCMCIA card is only needed if you want to hook up a laptop wirelessly. You might also want to check for USB wireless adaptors for the second computer if it is too far away to run a cable to.
But, pick up the router and give it a try. I give it a thumbs up and it’s a good deal.

This is a good deal, but the ONLY wifi router to buy is the Belkin Pre-N….Insane range (quadruple my g range) and super speed. Totally different technology. Worth the money. It make you see all the computers that have g built-in in a new light…..WHY? when the really good stuff is in N.

snortin. My other computer is to far what would I need to hook it up?

That shouldn’t be a problem. The router comes with an ethernet cable to hook up the closest computer. For the one that is too far away you would need either a 802.11G Usb adapter or a PCI wireless adapter. Both can be found fairly cheap at pricewatch.com and newegg.com
