103-Inch Panasonic TH-103PZ600U Plasma Just in Time for Christmas

Panazonic TH-103PZ600U

Pansonic has announced that the world’s largest plasma TV will go on sale in September, just in time for Christmas.  At 103-inches of real estate, the TH-103PZ600 will be one inch larger than Samsung’s previously developed, but not commercially sold, 102-inch model.  The TH-103PZ600U promises 1080p capability, a contrast ratio of 4,000:1, and a pricetag of a whopping $69,999.95 US (which explains it will be built to order).

But there’s one spec I’d like to know

A ‘regular’ 42” plasma consumes ~350kWh

I read somewhere that these huge > 100” plasma TVs take about half-an-hour to ‘warm up’ and the power drain is appaling.

Could you dig up this spec?

ôps, my bad:

~350W (0.35 kWh) is the power consumption of a 42” Plasma TV

I’d imagine that if you were going to buy that TV you wouldn’t really be concerned with the cost of running it.

Agreed, if you can afford a tv like this, you shouldnt be bitching about power consumption.
