iCam iOS app version 2.2

Video security surveillance app maker, SKJM, has updated its iCam app to version 2.2 and added some useful features. iCam now supports 256-Bit AES encryption, motion event image thumbnail gallery style, and supports the iPhone 5 4-inch display size. The update also includes various bug fixes and optimizations. I highly recommend this invaluable app. iCam has motion detection functionality sent via push notifiation alert with support for a bevy of third-party of security surveillance cameras. iCam is universal binary iOS app. Most notable feature: iCam for iPhone can support up to 12 simultaneous live video streams and the iPad up to 16. Don't don't have it? iCam is priced at $4.99 in the App Store.

What's New in Version 2.2

Goophone i5S Clones iPhone 5

Ever heard of the new Goophone i5S? Well, it looks awfully like the iPhone 5, yet it runs Android and costs $149.99. Shameless? Nah, this is the only natural way to do a smartphone nowadays. Hopefully you have your sarcasm meter set to "On." Of course the Goophone doesn't doesn't run iOS natively. It's in fact Android but with an iOS skin. A welled deserved cease and desist is in order in 3…2…1.

Samsung Galaxy S 4

Samsung made the Galaxy S 4 official at an event held at Radio City Music Hall. Led by JK Shin, head of Samsung mobile, the company showed off its new flagship smartphone--and it's exactly what we've already seen in the multiple leaks.

Front and center on the Galaxy S 4 is the 5-inch Super AMOLED 1080p display, using the new Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and sporting a whopping 441 pixels per inch. Stunning, to be sure. Additionally, this smartphone is the first to sport 802.11ac Wi-Fi support, the fastest you'll be able to find in any home at this point--also compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n as well, alongside Bluetooth 4.0. An IR blaster is included, similar to the one found on the HTC One, and you also get a removable 2,600 mAh battery. Other important specs include 2 GB of RAM, and the choice between 16, 32, and 64 GB of built-in storage. Naturally, the phone supports LTE.

House of Cards 4K

Netflix's Neil Hunt wants to make 4K streaming a thing in your home. The Netflix exclusive House of Cards, headlined by Kevin Spacey, is the current target for 4K streaming, says Hunt. As it turns out, much of the series was shot in 4K.

"Our own original House of Cards was shot in 4K," Hunt said to The Verge. "It's being mastered in full HD, but the raw footage, or a good chunk of it, was shot in 4K, and we hope to have some House of Cards 4K encodes later this year." Hunt believes 4K "will likely be streamed first before it goes anywhere else," and he plans to deliver the ultra high definition format through Netflix within the next couple of years.

Bing Microsoft Platform

The future of search, according to Microsoft, is outside of the white search bar. "Now the way for human beings to express their interest or needs goes way beyond a browser search typing in keywords," said Microsoft's Bing chief, Qi Lu. "You can use voice to have a conversation, you can use gestures to express yourself."

Moving forward, Bing will fit into all of Microsoft's products, providing information access from physical objects to expand the context of its search.

"The battle between us and Google is going to be over who can build understanding more quickly to serve people in a much more anticipatory way," says Microsoft's Adam Sohn. "Google's going to understand every entity on the planet, we're gonna understand every entity on the planet, but the question will be what do you do with that information?"

It appears that someone has been naughty and wants to spoil the party by uploading videos of the new Samsung Galaxy S IV smartphones before the launch tonight in New York City.

The first video highlights floating touch, which I presume allows the user to manipulate the screen without making physical contact. The feature was first introduced by Sony's Xperia Sola last year. Check out all four videos after the break.

Netflix Facebook Sharing

Netflix is more social in the US now that you or, better said, Netflix can share your favorite movies and television shows with your friends on Facebook.

The Internet video on demand streaming giant has been given the green light to share your Netflix activity among your Facebook friends. The added functionality is off by default, but users can turn it on and pretty much allow others to spy on what they're watching and liking. Thankfully, Netflix added another feature that will hide specific videos that you deem unworthy of sharing. The caveat is that you don't forget to click the "don't share this" button on a specific video.
