Lily Allen: I Need to Apologize to Rita Ora and Cara Delevingne
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Pop, New Releases,
Lily Allen is planning to apologize to Rita Ora and models Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn over songs on her new album.
The "Hard Out Here" hitmaker, who is about to release her new record Sheezus, appears to hit out at the stars by joking about celebrities who attend corporate events. "I still need to write letters to Rita Ora and Cara Delevingne. The song where I appear to slag off Rita and Jourdan is very much the same premise as Cheryl Tweedy. It's not about them, it's about the idea of them," she said, according to The Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old star, who has made her comeback after a four-year hiatus, was copied into harsh emails about her new material from a focus group when her record label carried out market research for her new album: "I accidentally got copied in on a whole bunch of it and reading it was one of the most horrible moments of my life. They don't actually tell the people what it is that they're listening to. So a lot of it was just people going, 'Is this Lily Allen? It f****ng is Lily Allen', 'If this is her I thought she'd ####### retired, the stupid ****!'"

Lily Allen Describes Lady Gaga as a “Martyr”
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Pop, New Releases, Sales,
Lily Allen has called Lady Gaga a "martyr" for choosing "art" over commercial success.
The "Air Balloon" hitmaker has defended her fellow singer after she was criticized for her latest album ARTPOP being a relative flop, insisting she deserves credit for the risks she has taken.
"If she's not succeeding commercially because she's standing by what she does as art, then that's a f**king great thing. That's to be commended. That's what makes a martyr. There's nothing wrong with that," she told Rolling Stone.
Lily has had similar problems with her own music, and admitted she had to choose her singles carefully to make sure they were acceptable for radio play. "I would love 'Hard Out Here' to have been a single, but you can't have a song that has the word 'bitch' in it 72 times on the radio," she explained.

Lily Allen’s Husband Embarrassed by Her New Single
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Pop, New Releases,
Lily Allen's husband is embarrassed that she wrote her new single about him.
The 28-year-old singer recently released her new track "L8 CMMR," which features lyrics such as "My lover/Shoots and scores like he's Maradonna/Undercover, under the covers/ My man is a bad mother*****," which refers to her love life with husband Sam Cooper but she claims he wasn't too happy when he heard it.
"Sam was completely embarrassed," she said.
The outspoken star has also admitted that she's no longer interested in engaging in feuds with other pop stars and says she want to focus on exploring different issues through her music: "I'm still curious and still want to dig deeper about things. I have a lot of questions to be answered. I don't really care about bitching about Katy Perry. To me that was never my edge. That was just sensationalist s***."

Lily Allen Names Album ‘Sheezus’ to Honor Kanye West
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Pop,
Lily Allen will call her new album Sheezus as a tribute to Kanye West.
The "Air Balloon" singer insisted the name of the record - a parody of the rapper's latest album Yeezus - isn't intended as a joke as his expense, instead describing it as a sign of ''respect."
"With all my albums, I've just wanted to have a laugh. But yes, Sheezus, it's bold. But it's not taking the p**s out of Kanye at all. I've got nothing but respect for him. I love him ... So it is a little homage to him. I hope he doesn't think it's a diss. I'd be horrified if he thought that," she told The Sun.
The 28-year-old star also explained while Kanye is outspoken and controversial, he actually "makes total sense." She said,"I know people think he's crazy but most of what he says I think makes total sense. I mean there are a few exceptions but on the whole. He is one of the only people who says what he believes and people call him mad for it."

Lily Allen: I Want to Work with Miley Cyrus

Lily Allen wants to work with Miley Cyrus.
The 28-year-old star met Miley, 21, on a trip to Los Angeles after chatting with her on Twitter and is self-confessed fan.
Lily insists the satirical video for her comeback single "Hard Out Here" wasn't an attack against the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker, despite it showing her surrounded by twerking scantily-clad dancers. "I'd never met her before so I couldn't say we are really great friends but I do really like Miley. She's funny, witty and clever, I love what she does. I think her and Lorde's album have had the most plays in my car this year. I never went on record saying the video was a direct pop at her - it wasn't. She's probably way too busy for someone like me but yeah, I'd welcome the opportunity to work with her," Lily, 28, the Daily Mirror newspaper.

Lily Allen to Perform at Glastonbury

Lily Allen will perform at Glastonbury 2014.
The "Hard Out Here" singer - on the comeback trail after initially quitting music in 2011 - is the first high profile artist to confirm she has been booked for the iconic British festival, which will take place in June next year.
"I'm playing Glastonbury. It's official. I got the news yesterday. You can catch me, I'm doing an acoustic session at the Stone Circle on Sunday night," she said, speaking on BBC Radio 1 this morning.
Lily is a regular visitor to Glastonbury festival and usually attends even if she is not performing, although it is not the only festival she will be playing next summer. "I'll be doing 16 weeks of festivals over the summer and then tour," she added.
The 28-year-old star is about to release her third album, but admits it was harder to make than her first two, because she now has daughters Ethel, who turns two next week, and Marnie, ten months, with husband Sam Cooper: "At first it was really, really difficult because I was pregnant when I was making it [her new album], with my second baby. For a long time I found it really difficult and it wasn't until I stopped breastfeeding that I started to connect with myself again, so it was hard, much harder than it has been in the past."

Lady Gaga Gains Third UK Number One Album

Lady Gaga has topped the UK charts with her album ARTPOP.
The "Applause" singer scored yet another number one with her latest release, following her previous works The Fame and Born This Way which all took the top spot.
Gaga's success means she has pushed back Eminem's comeback effort Marshall Mather's LP 2 into second place after the album's second single "Monster" featuring Rihanna landed a number one earlier this month. According to the Official Charts Company, the 27-year-old singer also beat off stiff competition from Celine Dion, whose Loved Me Back To Life sits at number three while Little Mix second studio album Salute entered the charts at number four.
Meanwhile, Martin Garrix topped the singles chart with his debut "Animals." The 17 year old Dutch DJ beat out Lily Allen, whose cover of Keane's "Somewhere Only We Know" - featured in John Lewis' Christmas ad - came in at Number Two. The original version of the song also re-entered the chart at Number 29.

Lily Allen: Music Industry Is Dominated by Male Execs
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Industry News, Pop,
Lily Allen thinks women are controlled by male executives in the music industry.
The "Hard Out Here" hitmaker thinks the word "b***h" - an insult which rose in the 1920s - is often used to describe a number females who are in the spotlight. "Dolly Parton is a b***h. Adele's a b***h. Angela Merkel [German Chancellor] is a b***h ... Rihanna's an inspiring b***h, my mum, Miley's a b***h, rising. She's my hero. Kate Middleton is NOT a b***h. I've always been called 'mouthy' when, in fact, I'm just talking. In the music industry, women have always been controlled by male execs, told to do the Kate Moss thing. Keep your mouth shut, or people will laugh at you. They've been talking about us like this for years, basically," she told The Observer.
Lily, who is returning to the music industry after a four-year break, insists things have changed since she launched her career in 2005 as there are more female artists: "It's nice, but it's weird. I'm totally out of touch. When I first started, in terms of girls it was just me and Amy [Winehouse]. Now, 'reentering the marketplace,' it's all girls."

Lily Allen Addresses “Hard Out There” Racism Backlash
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Music Videos, Pop,
Lily Allen has defended her "Hard Out There" music video.
The 28-year-old singer has hit out at accusations of racism in her new raunchy video - which sees a group of black women jiggling their bottoms - by saying she chose her backing dancers through their talent, not based on their skin color.
"If anyone thinks for a second that I requested specific ethnicities for the video, they're wrong. If anyone thinks that after asking the girls to audition, I was going to send any of them away because of the color of their skin, they're wrong. I'm not going to apologize because I think that would imply that I'm guilty of something, but I promise you this, in no way do I feel superior to anyone, except pedophiles, rapists murderers etc., and I would not only be surprised but deeply saddened if I thought anyone came away from that video feeling taken advantage of,or compromised in any way," she wrote on her Twitter.
