Kings of Leon Are Closer after Their Meltdown

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Rock,

Kings of LeonKings of Leon are closer after hitting rock bottom in 2011.

The "Sex on Fire" hitmakers were forced to take a year long break due to exhaustion, coupled with rumors frontman Caleb Followill was drinking too much, and the family band believe their time out of the limelight has made them stronger.

During an interview with Fearne Cotton on UK station BBC Radio 1, Caleb said, "We're brothers and that's never going to change. We'll always have moments where we don't see eye-to-eye but I think it made us realize how much we love what we're doing. How blessed we are. I think it made us closer."

The rapper has been confirmed to attend the awards ceremony held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he is due to be presented with the Global Icon Award. The "Lose Yourself" hitmaker - who is also rumored to be performing - follows in the footsteps of music legends including Bon Jovi, Queen and Whitney Houston. Glee vs. Kings of Leon

Glee cast photo

It’s starting to get ugly between Glee writer/co-creator Ryan Murphy and Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill, and all because of “Use Somebody.”

The band famously turned Glee down when the show requested to use the song.

Murphy responded to the Kings of Leon snub in the midst of a lengthy Hollywood Reporter article, saying “[expletive deleted] you, Kings of Leon.” He went on to say, “Okay, hate on arts education” and a few other choice statements.

Nathan Followill fired off an angry Twitter tirade telling Murphy to “let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra.” He jumped back on his page two hours later to offer an apology: “I’m sorry 4 anyone that misconstrued my comments as homophobic or mysoginistic [sic]. I’m so not that kind of person. I really do apologize.”

Quote of the Day: Kings of Leon’s Caleb Followill on Hipsters

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Gossip, Rock,

Caleb Followill

“I hate f**king hipsters. Everyone talks about indie this and indie that, but would you really want to be one of those indie bands that makes two albums and disappears? That’s just sad. ... When we signed on with our manager, we all said we wanted to have a box-set career. We’ll gladly be the next generation of bands that aren’t going anywhere.”

Kings of Leon Not Feeling Glee-ful

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Gossip, Rock,

Kings of Leon

Coldplay may have finally relented and let their songs be used on Glee, but it sounds like Kings of Leon will be holding their ground.

According to the group, they have denied requests to have their music used on the FOX series “apparently everybody loves.”

Although it’s unclear why KOL made that decision (or why their songs have been heard on others shows like Gossip Girl), it’s not the first time the band has turned someone down.

VIDEO: Pigeon Poop Halts Kings of Leon Concert

The next time bird poop lands on your newly washed windshield, remember this: At least it didn’t fall into your mouth.

That disgusting scenario is exactly what happened to Jared Followill, ‘s bassist, on Friday night.

During a concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis, MO, the band fell victim to a group of pigeons that had taken up residence in the rafters. The birds, which had made a mess of the stage prior to their act, forced the “Sex on Fire” performers to quit only after several songs.
