Concertgoer Sues Jonas Brothers

Jonas BrothersThe Jonas Brothers are being sued by a woman who claims she was crushed at one of their concerts three years ago.

Ashleigh Johnson is taking legal action against the band - made up of siblings Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas - and The Grove shopping center in Los Angeles, where the free gig took place in 2009.

Johnson says she ended up traumatized after being caught up in a crush of fans and is suing both parties for negligence, claiming they both knew a large number of people - including many minors - would show up. According to the lawsuit, which was filed on Monday, Johnson also claims proper security measures were not in place at the packed outdoor shopping mall.

Johnson alleges she suffered "severe injury to her body and shock to her nervous system" after being pinned against a fence, as well as "great mental...and nervous pain."

Marina and the Diamonds Not Worried About Being Pop

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Alternative, Pop, New Releases,

Marina and the DiamondsMarina and the Diamonds felt some fans "wouldn't allow" her to be a pop artist on Electra Heart.

The singer's second album took a more chart-friendly direction away from her indie roots, and while she was initially unsure, she is now happy some people would criticize her for it.

"I think that I wasn't allowed to change and that deep down I wanted to write a pop album and to be a popstar. For some reason, I felt like people wouldn't allow me to do that, which is stupid because I love the album. So I should have just never said anything and accepted that some people would have said 'she's not credible anymore' and that some people would start to be a fan of me, because that's what always happens when you change your music."

Marina - real name Marina Diamandis - worked with pop producer Dr. Luke on the album, and says he changed the entire way some of the songs were presented:

Carrie Underwood Loves Touring

Carrie UnderwoodCarrie Underwood is having a blast on her Blown Away tour.

The country music star thinks the "weird life" and odd hours involved in touring the US are worth it as she has a great time hanging out with her backing musicians, but has to take time out from her gruelling schedule to relax every now and again.

"We're having a lot of fun when we're out on the road. If we weren't, we wouldn't keep doing it. We all work so hard and have such funny hours. It's such a weird life that we live. We live on tour buses and it's just strange, so on days off I'll go take the dogs for a super long walk. I got a massage a couple of days ago and that was nice. But it's really all about recharging the batteries."

The 29-year-old singer promises fans a very visual and "cinematic" experience with the tour and says she put a lot of effort into planning the staging to accompany her brand new tracks as she wants the audience to feel they got their money's worth:

No Doubt Makes the Album of Their Lives

No DoubtNo Doubt have made "the album of our lives." The "Don't Speak" hitmakers are confident their first record in eleven years, Push and Shove, is worth the wait and are "so proud" of the finished product.

"We would've loved for it to come out sooner. At the same time, we realized the people that care about us, that have given us our lives, are out there waiting for us, so what does it matter if it's a month here or a month there? As long as we make the record of our lives that we are so proud of. Otherwise, why put something out?" singer Gwen Stefani told Billboard.

The band credit their 2009 reunion tour with giving them the confidence and inspiration to return to the studio, as they realized their solid fan base was willing to stick by them. "We had writer's block up until that point. When we did that tour, it was the waking of the dead. Not only did we get our confidence back, on top of that it gave us the feeling of not needing to rush. All these amazing people were still coming out to see us, so we thought, 'Let's make the best record we can make now.' We wouldn't have this record if we didn't do that tour," bassist Tony Kanal added.

Smashing Pumpkins Frustrated by Fans

Smashing PumpkinsSmashing Pumpkins get frustrated when fans just want to hear their old songs.

Frontman Billy Corgan says despite all the work he puts into writing new material, fans often just want them to play the classics:

"We met this wall resistance like, 'It's nice you guys want to move forward, but can't you just play the old songs?' I've had five years of 'Can't you just play the old songs?' The whole time, all I've done is put my head down and try to make new music. You reach a point of literal frustration where you start going, 'Maybe this is never going to move forward? Maybe the vague 'they' out there will never accept The Smashing Pumpkins of this time?'"

However, concertgoers could be disappointed next time they're at a show because Billy says they plan to play their latest offering Oceania in its entirety with only few fan favorites thrown in:

The "OMG" hitmaker will launch his new album Looking 4 Myself at the Hammersmith Apollo with a concert which will be streamed live around the world on his YouTube Vevo channel as part of the American Express Unstaged series and Usher is excited about the experience.

"The American Express Unstaged show is my chance to be a little bit modern and also to get up close and personal with the fans, which is something I don't get in a stadium or arena. It's art in motion but also something that I think the fans will really get a kick out of."

The livestream from London will be directed by Hamish Hamilton and Usher is thrilled to be working with the filmmaker: "Working with Hamish has always been a pleasure, he's someone I really respect and he really gets me as an artist. Having the ability to stream my performance live allows me to be connected to the entire world, it's kind of like modern thinking but classic at the same time."

Courtney Love performing in Sao PauloCourtney Love stormed off stage in Brazil after a fan showed her a picture of Kurt Cobain.

The Hole singer stopped her band's set and threatened to "beat the f**k" out of the offending crowd member for holding up the picture of her husband - lead singer of Nirvana, who killed himself in 1994 - as she played at the SWU festival in Sao Paulo this weekend. Upon seeing the picture, Courtney yelled, "I don't need to see a picture of Kurt, a******, and I'm going to have you f***ing removed if you keep holding that up."

Referring to her daughter with Kurt, Frances Bean, 19, she added, "I'm not Kurt, I have to live with his s**t and his ghost and his kid every day and throwing that up is stupid and rude and I'm going to beat the f**k out of you if you do it again. You weren't f***ing married to him, I f***ing was."
