Beyonce Knowles Less Sexy in Malaysia

Beyonce has vowed to wear “appropriate” clothing for her controversial show in Malaysia.

The “Crazy in Love” singer’s scheduled concert in the country’s capital Kuala Lumpur on October 25 has been met with anger by Islamic extremists, who claim her sexy outfits and provocative stage routines are “immoral” and will corrupt young people.

But the 28-year-old star - who had to pull out of a concert in the country two years ago after the same group, the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, threatened to protest at the show - has agreed to tone down her performance, meaning the concert can go ahead. Show organizers Marctensia said all parties had reached an “amicable understanding.”

“We are confident that the concert will once and for all silence international critics and put Malaysia back on track… in presenting A-list international pop concerts in this region,” a spokesperson for the entertainment company added.

In August 2007, was told to cover up for her Malaysian concert. The flamboyant star wore “sober” outfits but called it a “major sacrifice.” She put jackets over her tops and leotards underneath her skirts and dresses, to conform to the guidelines for the show.

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Awards,

BeyonceAttention all you female singers: you might as well give up right now. has got the race locked up.

Although we’re only 8 months into the current year, Billboard has already declared the “Single Ladies” star their Woman of the Year. In fact, they’ll be presenting her the award in October.

The Grammy winner’s selection was based on a number of factors. In addition to releasing one of the catchiest songs ever (and a successful album overall), the singer-dancer-actress has “inspired the music business with her success, leadership and new ideas.” Knowles has also generously given to the community by offering free concert tickets to financially-strapped families and helping to provide meals through Feeding America.

Lady Gaga to Tone Down Show

Description is toning down her image for her trip to Israel.  The “Poker Face” singer - famed for her provocative outfits and routines - has vowed to be respectful while she is in the Jewish country and can’t wait to see “sacred and holy” Jerusalem.  She added her visit to the holy city will be “an emotional and spiritual experience.”  However, the 23-year-old blonde - who plans to swim in the Dead Sea - admits she won’t be able to curb all her wild behavior and has confessed she might “get drunk in Jerusalem.”

Lady Gaga, who will perform the last show of her “Fame Ball” tour in Tel Aviv tonight, is not the first star ordered to tone down their image during a visit to a religious country.  In October 2007, canceled her concert in Malaysia after she was told to follow the Muslim country’s strict dress code.  Gwen Stefani was also told to cover up during her Malaysian concert in August 2007.  The flamboyant star wore sober outfits but called it a “major sacrifice”.  She put jackets over her tops and leotards underneath her skirts and dresses, to conform to the guidelines during the show.  Madonna was warned about her raunchy stage show for her concert in Russia’s St. Petersburg earlier this month.

Beyonce Knowles Knowles took a 45-foot car ride from her London hotel to a shop. The Single Ladies singer took two chauffeur driven vehicles containing her team and bodyguards, trailed by paparazzi, on a car journey from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel - located in the exclusive Knightsbridge area of the UK capital - to the Harvey Nicholls department store across the street. Beyonce reportedly demanded on being driven because she didn’t want to walk in her high heels.

After being escorted around the designer store for just 20 minutes she took her car back to her hotel. A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Beyonce has always been down to earth but her antics were astonishing. It looked like they were preparing for a long journey, but it was over as soon as it began. It would have been much quicker to have strolled across the road.

The 27-year-old singer is in the UK for the final dates of her I Am world tour.
