Lou Reed Dies of Liver Disease

Lou ReedLou Reed died of liver disease.

The legendary Velvet Underground frontman and pioneer of modern rock passed away on Sunday aged 71, and it has now been confirmed he died of complications with his liver, which he had been suffering with for a year.

The "Perfect Day" star had undergone a liver transplant in April and also had to cancel his Coachella Music and Arts Festival in California due to his illness. The transplant initially appeared to be a success and Lou was looking forward to the future and to returning to performing. "I am a triumph of modern medicine, physics and chemistry. I am bigger and stronger than ever," he wrote on Facebook in June.

However, more recently the singer and guitarist had taken a turn for the worse and when it was confirmed the disease had entered its final stages he refused further treatment and returned home. "We all agreed that we did everything we could," his doctor, Charles Miller, told the New York Times.

Robin Gibb Dies

Robin GibbRobin Gibb has died. The Bee Gees singer has passed away after a battle with cancer aged 62. His family, including wife, Dwina, brother, Barry, daughter Melissa, 37, and sons Spencer, 39, and Robin-John, 29, had been keeping a vigil at his bedside at a hospital in London in recent weeks.

"The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time," said a statement released by relatives.

Robin had surgery on his bowel last year for an unrelated condition, but a tumor was discovered and he was diagnosed with cancer of the colon and then liver. He was recently thought to be in remission, but his condition worsened when he was diagnosed with pneumonia last month.

In February Robin told how he felt "fantastic" and had made spectacular progress in his cancer battle, and even returned to the stage, receiving a standing ovation when he appeared at a London Palladium charity concert supporting injured servicemen and women with The Soldiers, performing Bee Gees tracks "How Deep Is Your Love" and "I've Gotta Get A Message To You."

Rihanna: ‘Chris Brown Duet Made Sense’

Rihanna and Chris Brown

Rihanna believes having Chris Brown on her new album "made sense."

The "You Da One" singer worked with her ex-boyfriend - who was charged with assaulting her in early 2009 - on track "Birthday Cake" and she thinks it was sensible to have him on there because he is the best musician for the job.

"I reached out to him about doing 'Birthday Cake' because that's the only person that really, it made sense to do the record. Just as a musician, despite everything else, that was going to be the person. You know, I thought about rappers, and I've done that so many times, and the hottest R&B artist out right now is Chris Brown. So I wanted him on the track, and then in turn he was like, 'Why don't you do the remix to my track?' and it was a trade off," she said.

How does a celebrity like Kanye West know when he's really made it? When he's been spoofed by South Park? When he's appeared on The Cleveland Show?

No -- when he's been mentioned in the same sentence as The Muppets ... or Josh Groban.

In the video above, Oscar and Grammy nominee Groban has lifted West's own words for his latest album. The Best Tweets of Kanye West rivals the Twitter-based duet -- "Tweet Tweet" -- Drake and Jimmy Kimmel collaborated on earlier this year.

After the jump, you can also see the Muppets of Sesame Street take on a NSFW version of "Monster." Now that we've seen the PBS characters singing both Lil Jon and Kanye West songs -- should we say a bright future in rap is ahead of them?

See Willow Smith Whip Her Hair in New Music Video

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music Videos, Hip-Hop & Rap,

If you’re going to member of the Smith family, there are two things you better learn how to do: act and sing. Fortunately for Willow Smith, she can do both.

At just nine years of age, Willow -- the daughter of actors/singers Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith – has already nabbed roles in several films (I Am Legend, Kitt Kittredge). She also has secured her own record deal. Seriously.

“Whip My Hair,” the first single from Roc Nation's newest artist, is Willow’s way of expressing her individuality. “You can’t be afraid to be yourself and you can’t let anyone tell you that that’s wrong. My mom and I are very strong individuals and I just know that because lots of people don’t act like themselves so they’re not happy,” she explained.

If you like what you heard, you can purchase the song when it hits iTunes on October 26. Until then, make sure you also check out Karate Kid’s Jaden Smith – Willow’s big brother – singing with Justin Bieber.
