Usher Wants Adele Duet

Usher believes the world "deserves" a duet between him and Adele.
The "Yeah" singer thinks he should collaborate with "Rolling in the Deep" hitmaker Adele, after she has had such a great year since releasing her second album 21: "I think the world deserves an Usher and Adele record. That's what I think."
Usher also joked that he didn't want people in the US to keep buying 21, so it doesn't beat his record of 7.9 million sales of an album in one year, set with Confessions in 2004:

Lionel Richie wants to work with Adele and Sir Paul McCartney.
The "Hello" hitmaker is releasing an album of his hits re-recorded with country artists - including Shania Twain and Willie Nelson - but says there are still some artists on his list he would love to work with.
"If I had my choice right now - Adele, I would go into the studio, say, tomorrow four o'clock. Then you have Coldplay - any day of the week. McCartney, forget about it! That guy, still, has got it all. He was a Beatle, one of the guys, right? But just give me some time and we'll find all these people."
Lionel, 62, also said he picked the title of his country album, Tuskegee, after the town in Alabama where he grew up, which was also home to his earliest musical inspirations:

Adele’s Studio Breakdown
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Pop,
Adele had "a breakdown" when she started recording in America.
The "Someone Like You" hitmaker was overwhelmed to team up with producer Rick Rubin for her album 21 because the studio they worked in, Shangri-La in Malibu, had previously been used by some of her heroes including Johnny Cash and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
"The first day I had a breakdown. I lost it and started crying and had to go for a walk on the beach to sort myself out. After that, I was fine though I still had the odd moment. Between a take, Rick would talk to his engineer and say, 'Remember when we had this problem with Johnny Cash?' Then one day Kid Rock dropped by to do a vocal for something while I was outside having a fag. It all felt like an out-of-body experience."
Adele also admitted she "panicked" when stricken with writer's block on the road at a time she planned to pen the follow-up to her debut album 19: "I always hoped I could write when I was on tour but I couldn't do it. How did I cope? I didn't. I f***ing panicked."

Adele’s Voice Has Got Higher

Adele's voice has got higher since she had an operation on her vocal cords.
The singer made her live return - singing publicly for the first time since last November - at the Grammy awards on Sunday and has noticed some distinct changes since she underwent the operation to save her voice.
"It feels really smooth. It's not as husky as it used to be, but that's because I was singing with a polyp. And it's higher than it used to be. Which is a bit weird. I really thought if my voice changed an octave it would go lower. But it still sounds like me," she told Vogue.
The 23-year-old vocalist also explained how she had to build her voice back up gradually, and keep silent for a number of weeks and reportedly speaking through a voice generating phone application before humming, then eventually singing again:

Adele Starts Preparing For Comeback

Adele has reportedly started "basic vocal training" in preparation for her comeback.
The "Someone Like You" singer underwent surgery on her vocal cords for a benign polyp earlier this year, forcing her to cancel a string of concerts in America and England, but she is now on the road to recovery and expected to start singing live again in 2012.
"She has time off in her schedule for much of the first quarter of 2012. Depending on how her voice builds back up, she might go to this medical vocal academy in Seoul. It sounds extreme, but she wouldn't be the first artist to go there after removing polyps," a source said.
As part of her continuing recovery, the singer will have a quiet Christmas at home with her mother, and is cutting back on alcohol and partying. "She's not going out raving or drinking. It's going to be really quiet," the source added.

Maroon 5 Want to Collaborate With Adele, Mumford and Sons

Pop rockers Maroon 5 would love to collaborate with Adele.
The band members are huge fans of the "Someone Like You" hitmaker, and keyboardist Jesse Carmichael revealed that she is top of his list of musicians he wants to work with: "In terms of collaborations, I don't know. My personal favorite would be to work with Adele right now. She's amazing."
However, lead singer Adam Levine is worried the singer is too popular to have time for them and spoke of his wish to work with Mumford and Sons. "Get in line. Mumford and Sons album is my favorite album of the year. Last time I saw them they were rehearsing for a performance with Bob Dylan at the Grammys and they were freaking out. It was awesome to see them so excited."
Meanwhile, Jesse revealed the band were worried their number one single with Christina Aguilera -- "Moves Like Jagger" -- would flop, because Adam loves it and when the lead singer hates one of their songs, it is usually successful. "In the past we had this barometer, which was that if Adam hated a song, we knew it was going to be successful," Jesse said.

Adele Breaks US Records
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Industry News, Pop,
British songstress Adele's 21 has become the biggest selling digital album of all time in the US.
The "Rolling in the Deep" hitmaker took the title from Eminem's Recovery record by selling 1.017 million digital copies of her LP in the country compared to the rapper's 1.005 million sales of his seventh studio album. Keith Caulfield, Billboard's associate director of charts/retail, said the 23-year-old British singer is "not just a digital phenomenon. She appeals to older consumers, who will still buy full albums, and to younger people who may just buy a single track."
According to figures from Nielsen SoundScan, digital sales make up more than 30 per cent of the purchases of 21, which was released in the US in February.

Adele has become "obsessed" with Beyonce while recovering from laryngitis.
The "Rolling in the Deep" singer had to cancel the second half of her US tour earlier this month because of the affliction to her vocal chords, and has been catching up with some music and TV she missed while resting at home in the UK.
"I'm at home now, watching box sets and sorting things out into neat piles and resting. i haven't been able to cook for almost 3 months cause Ive been on the road so I'm getting back into that (sic). Ive become obsessed with beyonce's I Am Sasha Fierce tour dvd and 30 rock, and Ive also started uploading over 1000 cds to my itunes! long but satisfying! i cant wait to be able to sing again, I'm bored stiff (sic)," she wrote on her site.
The vocalist also apologized for having to cancel her shows and promised her team are working on rescheduling them for as soon as possible. She also assured she is starting to feel better:

Ne-Yo has been "talking" to Beyonce about doing a duet. The "So Sick" hitmaker - who is currently working on his fifth album Love and Passion, which will be released in September - has a number of collaborations in the works but has no confirmed singles coming out with big-named stars.
"There's a couple of people who I might be collaborating with on the next album, I don't know exactly who right now, but I've talked to a couple of people, Chris Brown and Dr. Dre, Beyonce about some stuff. But nothing is set in stone right now."
In addition, the 31-year-old singer - who penned Beyonce's hit single "Irreplaceable" - also has a soft spot for UK artists, including troubled singer Amy Winehouse.
"What do I like most about the UK? The weather! No, no, I like the vibe out here. It's a really cool vibe. I really like Plan B or Amy Winehouse and Adele."
