Idris ElbaIdris Elba will make a special DJ appearance at London's Sway nightclub on Friday.

The actor-and-DJ will provide the soundtrack to a night of partying at the Covent Garden hotspot, marking his first DJ set since the whirlwind success of his latest acting role as Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, for which he recently earned a Golden Globe nomination

The 41-year-old star will DJ under his musical moniker 7 Wallace and will also be joined by US female rapper Eve - whose hit singles include "Tambourine" and "Rich Girl" with Gwen Stefani - and former EastEnders actor Chucky Venn, who plays Ray Dixon in the BBC One soap.

Idris recently revealed that his next album will be dedicated to former South African leader Nelson Mandela, who died at the age of 95 earlier this month: "The album will be called Mi Mandela. I went back to South Africa and worked with some great musicians. I'm really proud of the album. I'll wait until the film has died down so it doesn't get muddled but I'll release it in the New Year. Basically, it's a love letter from me to Mandela about me playing him."

Kris Jenner with Kim Kardashian and Kanye WestKim Kardashian is dismayed that Kanye West's album has missed out on a top Grammy nomination.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has expressed her disappointment that her fiance's latest record, Yeezus was recently snubbed from the prestigious Album of the Year category ahead of the awards ceremony in Los Angeles in February.

The 33-year-old star shared a message from one of her fans, @KimKanyeKimyeFC, on Twitter on Sunday that reads, "literally on EACH and EVERY single list Yeezus has been named the TOP 2 OR TOP 1 best album of the year.... [sic]." She also replied, "Except the Grammy's Album of the Year nomination," along with a sad emoticon face.

Earlier this month, Kanye, 36, lashed out at the organizers of the ceremony for not giving his album more recognition despite the fact he is in running for the Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song for "New Slaves." Speaking during one of his concerts, he ranted, "Yeezus is the top one or two album on every single list. But only gets two nominations from the Grammys. What are they trying to say?"

Katy Perry and John MayerKaty Perry thinks her music video with boyfriend John Mayer is more authentic than Kanye West's "Bound 2."

The "Roar" hitmaker, who joined forces with John on the song "Who You Love," made the comparison about Kanye's latest music video which features his fiancee Kim Kardashian straddling him topless on a motorcycle.

"I thought our response was a little bit more authentic because my hair was blowing in the right direction," the 29-year-old singer joked, speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The song appears on John's latest album Paradise Valley and Katy thinks their relationship works so well because they have a mutual appreciation for music. "Yeah we have a lot of fun. You know, we have music as an understanding and love between each other and we connect and you know it's like he understands what I do because he does the same thing. And so after a long day, if it's been tough, I don't really have to go into it, he just gets it. You know, so it's nice with that understanding," she continued.

EminemEminem reportedly refused to perform at a Super Bowl party unless he was paid $2 million.

The "Monster" rapper is said to have been approached to play a concert at the NFL Owners Party during Super Bowl week in 2014. According to TMZ, the offer was for Eminem to perform a set of his greatest hits for 1,500 guests following a lavish dinner, but organizers were forced to find a replacement act after the rapper demanded the hefty fee.

Reps for the event were also eyeing a performance from Kanye West only to find that his fee was also out of budget. "[For Kanye] it was $1 million, plus a lot of other perks," a source revealed.

As a last resort organizers have reportedly snapped up "Tight Rope" singer Janelle Monae who will perform for a more reasonable $150,000.

Pharrell Williams is set to release his first solo album in eight years.

The "Get Lucky" star has signed to Columbia Records for the release, which will follow his 2006 LP In My Mind. According to The Guardian, the album will feature his track "Happy," which he recently recorded for the world's first 24 hour-long music video. It featured the 40-year-old rapper and producer along with cameos from Odd Future, Magic Johnson, Steve Carrell and Jimmy Kimmel - dancing through the streets of Los Angeles.

Pharrell has had a successful year in music, after collaborating with Robin Thicke for the hit "Blurred Lines" and working with Daft Punk on their comeback single "Get Lucky." Speaking to GQ after being named Hitmaker of the Year by the magazine, he said his success of the songs, which both went to number one, was down to people wanting to escape from all the bad things in the world. "Both songs are for people who need a break. There's a lot of fucked-up travesty in the world. Sometimes you just need a Hallmark card. Sometimes you just need to shake your a**," he said.

Justin BieberJustin Bieber has claimed he is retiring.

The 19-year-old star, who has caused controversy in recent months for antics including partying underage in nightclubs and spray-painting public property in Australia, is planning to take a break from the music industry when his new album, Journals, is released next week, and it could be permanent.

"After the new album, I'm actually retiring man. I'm retiring," the "Heartbreaker" hitmaker told radio station Power 106 in Los Angeles on Tuesday. He then suggested he hasn't quite made up his mind, adding, "I want to grow as an artist and I'm taking a step out, I want my music to mature."

But the singer is no longer attracted to the idea of fame: "I'm here solely for my fans and for the music."

A source close to Justin insisted he was just joking and has no plans to permanently hang up his microphone. "The kid's got ambition," the insider said.
