Whitney Houston has hit back at “ridiculous” rumors she was hospitalized because of drug use.

The “Million Dollar Bill” singer was forced to postpone four shows on the European leg of her world tour this week - when she was admitted to hospital in Paris, France, with an upper respiratory infection - but has denied claims she has relapsed.

Whitney - who was discharged on Wednesday - said: “I’m feeling great. I’m just ready to move on and continue my world tour.”

Asked about drug use speculation, she replied: “Ridiculous. At this point, I just don’t respond. I don’t even read it.”

Whitney is adamant she was admitted to hospital on doctor’s orders. “My health is terrific. But this is a time when I get a lot of allergies,” she added.

The 46-year-old has openly discussed her problems with drugs and alcohol, which were partly responsible her destructive relationship with then-husband Bobby Brown. However, she has since recovered and launched her comeback last year.

The singer’s Nothing But Love World Tour 2010 will resume again next Tuesday in Birmingham, England.
