The Ting Tings aren’t desperate for Jay-Z to collaborate with them on their second album, Kunst.

The “That’s Not My Name” hitmakers have been working on the album in Berlin, and say they’re happy developing their new material by themselves, rather than with other sources.

Speculation has been rife Jay-Z would appear on the album since the duo signed to same management company as the rapper, Roc Nation, last year.

“We’re recording it ourselves at the moment,” multi-instrumentalist Jules De Martino revealed. “We’re seven tracks in and we haven’t needed anyone yet. But we have got to know Jay-Z a little bit better.”

The group - completed by guitarist and singer Katie White - have previously said the new album will be synth heavy.

“We listened back to some of the demos and we thought, hold on a minute, this is sounding too much like we’re rocking out live,” Jules said. “We bought a couple of old weird synths in New York and smuggled them in our suitcases back to Berlin and they started to come strong on the music.”

They also added that if they do collaborate on any tracks, it was more likely they would play with another group who they are friendly with.

“There is a band called the Tom Tom Club that we love and we already spoke with them. We know them now and we might do a collaboration,” Katie hinted.

Titles of tracks confirmed for the album include “Hands” and “Help.”
