The Flaming Lips and Kesha to Record an Album

Kesha and The Flaming Lips

The Flaming Lips and Kesha are making an album together. The indie rockers and the outspoken singer had such a "blast" the last time they worked together they have decided to team up again to record an album of duets titled Lip$ha.

"[Ke$ha] is a blast on all levels. She's funny, she's humble. She's bad ass. She's everything. She's awesome. We're actually already working on an album with her. It's called Lip$ha," frontman Wayne Coyne said.

Kesha first bonded with the band when they invited her to feature on a song called "2012" on their album The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends, which also included collaborations with Yoko Ono and Coldplay's Chris Martin.

The feisty star has been known to make unusual musical collaboration choices in the past, having pestered rock 'n' roll wild man Iggy Pop to work with her on her recent album Warrior. "Iggy really inspires me, so I decided to stalk him for about a year and a half. Finally I wore him down and he said he'd be on my record. I wrote a version of the song 'Dirty Love,' sent it to him and he liked it then I worked with him. Some of it's a bit rude. He was incredible to work with - a really sweet person," she previously said.
