Jurassic Park 4 Hires Screenwriters

Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver will write the Jurassic Park 4 script.
The duo - who were behind Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes - have been hired by Universal to pen the screenplay in the latest instalment of the dinosaur blockbuster.
Steven Spielberg - who helmed the first three movies in the franchise - has already ruled himself out of returning to direct the motion picture, but his production partner Kathleen Kennedy remains involved, and she has always stressed that the script will be the most important element of any potential sequel.
"A great script is what it's gonna take to get a fourth Jurassic Park. We have a very high bar for ourselves because we're just like the audience, we don't wanna make the movie if there's not a reason to make the movie. So we've kind of created the dilemma ourselves because it was never intended to be a franchise, so there's an argument to be made, 'Why are you doing a fourth Jurassic Park?' So we've gotta find a good reason for why we're doing a fourth Jurassic Park and we're in the midst of working on that right now," she said at the back end of last year.
There is no release date yet for Jurassic Park 4.

Mark Wahlberg: Ted is ‘Seth MacFarlane on Steroids’
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Universal, Comedy, Scripts, Upcoming Releases,
Mark Wahlberg says his latest movie Ted is like "Seth MacFarlane on steroids."
The 41-year-old star plays John Bennett - a grown man whose teddy bear comes to life when he is younger and never leaves his side - in the comedy movie, and the actor admits the Family Guy creator, who wrote, produced and stars as the titular character in the film, "pushes the envelope" with the motion picture's comical content.
"I think with Ted, people will not be disappointed, it's like Seth MacFarlane on steroids. It really is. I saw Family Guy and I thought, 'Wow, he's getting away with some of that stuff in a cartoon.' But now a feature film, Rated R, he pushes the envelope - there's nobody he doesn't offend either, everyone is fair game. I was down with singing and dancing on something like that."

The Woman In Black sequel will take place during World War II, 40 years on from the action of the first film. Screenwriter Jon Croker has teamed up with author Susan Hill to develop the much-anticipated sequel for Hammer Films, The Woman in Black: Angels of Death, which will have a brand new cast.
"We are proud and honored to be working with Susan again on The Woman in Black: Angels Of Death, a wonderful new tale every bit as atmospheric and terrifying as its predecessor," commented Hammer Films president Simon Oakes.
According to Empire online, the haunted Eel Marsh House - where the action of the first movie was set - is seized by the British government and turned into a military psychiatric ward in the new film. The sequel's protagonist will be called Eve, a nurse sent to work with the disturbed patients and has to fight to save them from the evil black-clad presence. No director or cast have been lined-up as yet.
The first film starred Daniel Radcliffe as a lawyer who uncovers a terrifying secret in Eel Marsh House. The film - which was directed by James Watkins and written by Jane Goldman - has grossed $127 million worldwide to date since its release in February 2012.

Ridley Scott ‘Really Wants’ a Prometheus Sequel

Ridley Scott "really wants" to make a Prometheus sequel.
The acclaimed filmmaker enjoyed making the sci-fi blockbuster - which stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron - and wants to work on a follow-up, though he admits he has no idea what he would do to extend the story.
"I really enjoyed it so much, I really want to do the sequel, it's interesting to do a sequel because it leaves the door so open to some huge questions. I don't know how to do it but when we get to it we probably will," he said.
Writer Damon Lindelof recently admitted he and the director had to work hard to leave the movie open to a sequel, but complete enough in case a follow-up wasn't made.
"Ridley was very interested in talking about, 'What are the answers to the questions that Prometheus is posing that are not necessarily definitively spelled out in the body of Prometheus?' I said to him, 'We should be prepared for people to feel frustrated if we're going to be withholding, so we have to be very careful about what we're saving for later,' because it's not a foregone conclusion that there are going to be sequels," Lindelof said.
War War Z to Undergo Rewrite and Reshoots

Brad Pitt's World War Z is set to undergo a script rewrite and extensive reshoots even though filming has ended.
The actor - who is also one of the producers - shot the post-apocalyptic horror film in various locations around Europe last year but Prometheus screenwriter Damon Lindelof has been brought on board to fix some problems with the first cut. Lindelof is thought to be concentrating on the film's third act which reportedly needs serious restructuring.
The December 2012 release date has been pushed back to summer 2013 to allow for six to seven weeks of reshoots in September and October.
The movie is based on the 2006 novel by Max Brooks and also stars Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, and Anthony Mackie. Marc Forster has directed the film.
The reshoots will be a blow to the studio Paramount, who had hoped to turn it into a trilogy.
X-Men: First Class Sequel to Feature Time Travel
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: 20th Century Fox, Action, Adaptation, Science Fiction, Sequels, Scripts, Upcoming Releases,
The X-Men: First Class' sequel is set to feature time travel.
The makers of the movie have registered the title Days Of Future Past - which is one of the most famous story arcs from the comic book series - with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), according to aintitcool.com. The storyline switches between the present day and a future in which mutants are an outlawed species, following the assassination of Senator Kelly by villain Magneto (Michael Fassbender). Kitty Pryde manages to warn her future self of the threat and the X-Men embark on a race against time to stop Magneto before it's too late.
Simon Kinberg, who also worked as a screenwriter on X-Men: The Last Stand will write the script while Matthew Vaughn will once again direct.
Matthew has previously spoken about his ideas for the sequel saying he would only bring in one new character: "We will only have one more new character. I won't say who he or she is! But we will only be bringing one more new character in. Because, I think, as Professor X (James McAvoy) is in a wheelchair, Magneto needs to have a nemesis he can fight with. Someone that will be his equal. I know who it is. It would be nice if I could say something, but I can't!"

Kristen Wiig found being nominated for an Oscar "surreal."
The 38-year-old actress and her writing partner Annie Mumolo were in contention for the Best Original Screenplay prize for Bridesmaids at this year's Academy Awards and though they didn't win, Kristen is delighted all her work on the comedy has paid off.
"To hear my name and Annie's announced, after five years of writing and working on the film - it was surreal. Professionally, the reception of this film has allowed me opportunities I could only dream of and I am incredibly grateful. It all feels like one big highlight."
Although she was pleased to be nominated for an award, Kristen says it is the response of fans of the movie that mean the most to her: "People have told me that the film made them laugh and cry and that the friendships really resonate with them. For me, there is no better compliment than that."
Tim Burton Hints at Beetlejuice 2 Involvement

Tim Burton says he might work on a Bettlejuice sequel if the script is "interesting."
The filmmaker helmed the original horror movie - which starred Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, and Winona Ryder - in 1988 and he has hinted he could return to direct a follow up if Seth Grahame-Smith comes up with a script he likes.
"If it was interesting. Although, I don't know if I would ever know a good script if it bit me in the face. But, I know what I like, so we'll see. Seth [Grahame-Smith] is writing something. I just told him, because it was something where I liked the character, he'd probably have a better response. He has ideas about it, so I just wanted to let him respond to it and see what he comes up with," Tim replied when asked if a Beetlejuice sequel is something he would consider being involved in.
