Judi Dench and Benedict Cumberbatch

Judi Dench agreed to star in an adaptation of Richard III after a public plea from Benedict Cumberbatch over the weekend.

The veteran actress was taking part in a question and answer session at the Hay Festival in Powys, Wales when the Sherlock star - who will take on the title role in the BBC drama this autumn - jumped at the chance to pin her down to the project following lengthy rumors he was keen to have her on board to play Queen Margaret in the Shakespearean tale.

"Would you like to be in Richard III with me?" Benedict asked. After a lengthy pause, Judi replied, "Yeah." Apparently there was a rather good theatrical pause until she finally said, "Yeah."

Tara Reid Took ‘Sharknado’ Job as a Joke

Tara ReidTara Reid accepted the leading role in Sharknado as a joke.

The 38-year-old actress stars alongside former Beverly Hills 90210 actor Ian Ziering in the film, which sees a freak hurricane swamp Los Angeles with hundreds of deadly sharks terrorizing its residents, and admits she never expected the made-for-TV movie to be so successful.

"I'm just as stunned as everyone else. Come on, I did it as a joke! I didn't even think anyone was going to see it. And then what happened has never happened before on any movie. Even now, you thought the buzz was going to stop about 'Sharknado', but it just keeps going."

Following on from its success, Asylum Films - who also made Snakes on a Plane - are now working on a sequel which will also star Tara Reid and she says it will be even more "ridiculous" than the first installment.

Getting Into Character: Gina Gershon Goes Platinum for Donatella

 Donatella Versace

The 51 year-old actress has donned the platinum blonde hair and layered on the makeup and jewelry to portray the infamous matriarch of the fashion house for Lifetime's upcoming House of Versace drama. The film - which airs on the network on October 5th at 8pm - also stars Raquel Welch and Enrico Colantoni.

Michael Douglas: Sex Scenes Are Judged

Michael Douglas in 'Behind the Candelabra'Michael Douglas says it is tough filming sex scenes because "everybody is a judge." The 68-year-old actor believes cast, crew and eventually moviegoers are more critical of love scenes because everyone can relate to erotic acts, as opposed to action and shooting scenes.

Michael - who has a gay sex scene with Matt Damon in new biopic Behind the Candelabra about pianist Liberace - said, "The hardest thing about sex scenes is that everybody is a judge. I don't know the last time you murdered somebody or blew anyone's brains out, but everyone has had sex, and probably this morning, which means everyone has an opinion on how it should be done."

Michael - who was diagnosed with stage four throat cancer in 2010 from which he has made a full recovery - now wants to make the most of his life and career while he can because he now knows how fragile life is: "In the past, on purpose, I've never known what movie I'm going to do next. I never knew how it would feel when I finished a picture. Now it feels great to be back at work. Maybe that's the benefit of taking a break with cancer."

Michael Douglas as Liberace

Michael Douglas takes on one of his boldest roles yet as the famous pianist and singer Liberace in a biopic about his last days, directed by Steven Soderbergh. In a still released today from the film - titled Behind the Candelabra, the name of the memoir written by the musician's young lover Scott Thorson - costume and cosmetics make Douglas nearly unrecognizable!

Matt Damon plays Thorson in the film (photo seen after the jump), who famously filed a $113 million palimony suit against Liberace in 1982. Rob Lowe, Dan Ackroyd, and Debbie Reynolds also appear in the film, which will air on HBO.

Grant Bowler: Working with Lohan Was Maddening

Lindsay Lohan and Grant BowlerGrant Bowler found working with Lindsay Lohan an "exercise in patience."

The Australian actor thinks filming Liz & Dick - in which he plays Richard Burton to her Elizabeth Taylor - should have run "smoother and he was frustrated over the time some things took on the TV movie.

"There were exercises in patience and there were exercises in tolerance. I believe it could have been smoother at times, it could have been a lot smoother at times and we could have got a lot more done on a couple of days, but you get what you're given. My focus was whether we could knuckle down and get a film made. We certainly took our time in a lot of ways when I would have preferred to be shooting."

Grant admits the delays to filming left him "mad," but he tried to focus on doing the best job he possibly could. "Well, you know, yeah. But a part of the job is you're off when you're off, you're on when you're on and you're focused. Every single job is an opportunity to get better at my job, I've been doing this for 22 years and all I care about at the end of the day is how well I do my job and how well I serve my audience," he said when asked if he was mad.

Lindsay Lohan Avoiding Bad ‘Liz & Dick’ Reviews

Lindsay Lohan in 'Liz & Dick'Lindsay Lohan refuses to acknowledge bad reviews.

The 26-year-old actress has reportedly banned her family and friends from discussing professional reviews of her new TV movie Liz & Dick in front of her because she is proud of her performance in the film. Friends close to Lindsay insist she "loved playing Elizabeth Taylor and is in love with the final product."

The troubled starlet has told friends she doesn't want to know what the reviews say regardless of whether it is positive of negative because it would "take away from her experience on the project," according to gossip website TMZ.com.

The actress's new Lifetime movie - which will hit screens tomorrow - has been slammed by many critics including The Hollywood Reporter, which called the film "spectacularly bad."

Meanwhile, Lindsay is also starring in a new music video for rockers R.E.M directed by actor James Franco. In a newly released five minute clip, the actress is seen pouting and posing as a muse for celebrity photographer Terry Richardson in the video for the song "Blue" from the band's final album Collapse Into Now.

Ed Harris Going Maverick to Play John McCain

Sen. John McCain Ed Harris

HBO has picked Ed Harris to play Senator John McCain in Game Change, an adaptation of the novel. The movie shows an insider’s point of view of the historic 2008 Presidential election.

Which means, yes, Sarah Palin will also be portrayed in the flick. The movie follows both campaigns, McCain’s and Obama’s. Jay Roach will return to HBO to direct the flick. He won an Emmy for HBO's Recount, the 2008 account of the 2000 Presidential election.

Harris is only 60, making him a bit young to play the elderly McCain, but the four-time Oscar nominee is sure to bring a lot to the role. As we reported, Julianne Moore will play opposite him as former Governor Sarah Palin.
