Quote of the Day: Charlize Theron on Nude Scenes

Charlize Theron in Snow White and the Huntsman

"I am very good with side nudity. I tend to find that's probably my best kind of nudity. Back is a little too much back; I need an angle. I like angular nudity. I can do a small percentage of one side and the other."

Kristen Stewart ‘Hates’ Girl Power Movies

Kristen Stewart as Snow WhiteKristen Stewart "hates" girl power films. The 22-year-old actress enjoys portraying physically and mentally strong characters and she was excited to play Snow White in her latest movie Snow White and the Huntsman because her alter-ego has "gusto and kicks ass."

"I hate girl power movies, when the people you're rooting for are not girls. That's what I was attracted to. I've always wanted to find a role where I can challenge myself physically, I really like getting the opportunity to hurt myself for the job but what I loved was that Snow White is someone who has the gusto and kicks ass but she's not a dude. She remains, steady. I'm not built to be physically strong, you have to outsmart someone, you have to be physically and mentally quicker, you have to have a strong heart."

Kristen was keen to play Snow White to "push" herself, and she particularly enjoyed playing the character when she overcame fears within the storyline: "Nothing is that simple. Every time Snow White has to do something and not be crippled by fear I'm into that, one of the things I wanted to do was see how far I could push myself. The reason they hire these big huge burly dudes to work on these movies is because it's hard."

Kristen Stewart Wants to Work with Pattinson Again

Robert Pattinson and Kristen StewartKristen Stewart is "dying to" make another movie with Robert Pattinson.

The Snow White and the Huntsman actress is desperate to work with her boyfriend - whom she has been dating since they began working on the Twilight Saga film series - again and is looking for a "ridiculously ambitious" project to star with him in.

Asked if she would be interested in appearing in the forthcoming big screen adaptation of E. L. James' best-selling novel Fifty Shades of Grey, she told Celebuzz, "I haven't read the book yet, so I don't know. But I'm dying to make another movie with Rob. I think we're a good team, and whatever it is needs to be so ridiculously ambitious ... but I'd love to work with him again."

Kristen recently revealed Robert was a big fan of her work in Snow White and the Huntsman: "He likes it. He really likes it. It's cool. It's good. I'm really proud of it."

Ian McShane to Play a Dwarf in Snow White

Ian McShaneIan McShane has signed up to play a dwarf in Snow White and the Huntsman. The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides actor - who is 5'9'' in height - will portray Caesar, the leader of the group of dwarves who assist Snow White, to be played by Twilight star Kristen Stewart, as her evil stepmother (Charlize Theron) attempts to have her killed.

In addition to Ian, Kristen and Charlize, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth has signed up to play the Huntsman in the upcoming movie - which is to be directed by Rupert Sanders - who will be tasked with slaying Snow White, but eventually trains her to survive the ordeal and fight back.

With filming due to begin in August, Snow White and the Huntsman will hit cinemas just a few months after Tarsem Singh's interpretation of the same tale, Untitled Snow White. Starring Lily Collins - the daughter of British musician Phil - as the exiled princess and Julia Roberts as the evil Queen, filming for Untitled Snow White was scheduled to begin yesterday.

Snow White and the Box Office Battle

Julia Roberts Kristen Stewart

It’s the kind of thing that happens when rights licensing gets out of hand. As we’ve explained, two different Snow White films will make their way to the big screen in 2012. Each flick is peppered with big names and some fresh faces, and each will present an original take on the age-old fairy tale.

But, there’s trouble, because each film wants to be the first one to come to theaters. Relativity Media’s Snow White was scheduled to release on June 29, so Universal’s Snow White and Huntsman moved its production schedule up 6 months to set a new release for June 1.

Relativity retaliated by moving its fairy tale flick up to March 16. And in the rush to get each movie to the box office, someone’s bound to foul up somewhere.

Kristen Stewart Finds Her Prince Charmant

Sam Claflin

Kristen Stewart has a prince… and it’s not Robert Pattinson. Stewart, who will be playing one of the title roles on Snow White and the Huntsman (guess which), will be paired onscreen with Sam Claflin.

He recently came to attention in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Claflin will play Prince Charmant, Stewart’s love interest in the re-telling of the fairy tale. Charlize Theron will play the Evil Queen, and so far no Huntsman has been cast.

Snow White Found! Phil Collins Daughter Set to Star

Lily CollinsLily Collins, daughter of music icon Phil Collins, is Snow White. She’s been cast for the title role in The Brothers Grimm: Snow White.

She’ll co-star with Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen and Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as Prince Andrew. Collins is still a fresh face in the movie industry, but she’s no slouch. She worked alongside Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side, and she’s currently working on the set of a new remake of Romeo and Juliet.

The Relativity film will compete with a Universal flick that’s using the exact same subject matter. The Snow White and the Huntsman cast is already set with Kristen Stewart as Snow White and Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen.

Kristen Stewart to Play Snow White

Kristen StewartStorybooks and Kristen Stewart are a perfect match. The dark-haired beauty is filming her last Twilight film even as we pine away for the release of Breaking Dawn, Part I, but the end of Bella is just the beginning for K-Stew. The actress has signed on to play Snow White, another raven-locked storybook heroine.

Stewart will play one of the titular roles in Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman, one of two Snow White movies currently in the works.

Producer Palak Patel is hoping to set a new tone for the old fairy tale with the casting decision. She explained it all on Twitter: “Clearly, [Kristen Stewart] isn’t right for the upbeat, song-happy Disney version of the character, but this movie is going to be dark and gritty.”

Then, it sounds like K-Stew really is the perfect choice. Stay up-to-date on this and other movie news when you follow FilmCrunch on Twitter.

Julia Roberts Will Play Snow White’s Evil Queen

Jula RobertsWe’ve never really seen her be a villain . . . but, we’re pretty sure she’ll nail it. Hollywood A-lister Julia Roberts has just signed up to play the evil Queen in the new film adaptation of Snow White -- and no, this isn’t voice-over work.

Relativity Media isn’t making this one for young kids and family audiences. Their version of the well-known fairy tale will "will eschew the traditional story in favor of a more modern tale full of comedy and adventure." And while that sounds pretty dismal to us, we’re willing to hold off on judgment and hold out hope. After all, Julia Roberts is involved.

Snow White is about to get a huge boost in popular culture, which may be good news for those who are tired of Disney’s animated 1937 joint. Charlize Theron will play the Queen in Universal's Snow White and The Huntsman, and Disney is also planning a new adaptation of the original German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.

Roberts will go to work on the film sometime in April, and it’s scheduled for release in June 2012.
